OK this is Sonya's mom and I will tell you that osteosarcoma is a rare type of cancer , only 2000 cases are diagnosed in the USA every year , and only 400 are diagnosed in children under the age of 20. Sadly it's becoming more and more common.
As far as how does it feel to have cancer.....ask anyone you personally know to describe it to you and you will see what they say about chemo. I know that Sonya feels like she has been stripped down from everything her life was , no school , no hanging out and having fun with friends , no feeling well and eating whenever she wanted , no fun no nothing , instead she feels nausiated 24 hours a day , can't walk right because she had to get a knee replacement due to the resection of the tumor on her knee , and has to get chemo treatments that make her sick as a dog , followed by hospital stays to try to fix her blood counts and electrolytes before she gets more chemo....and that goes on for months. Not easy.
