I got POR for $109.00 a night Oct 29-Nov 5th. That was what I was wishing for. So I'm very happy!

I have been checking for any of the monorail resorts for the first weekend in dec. I am not getting any availability except for the Poly! I will keep checking but I hope it doesn't through me out because I've been checking the same dates several times... Any advice on how to do this?

I spoke with a CM on Friday at CRO. She said they were told of this new system and that they would be able to book passholder rates via the telephone when they were officially released pass the current dates... but that they wouldn't be as large a discount. They are trying to prevent bookings that hold rooms and then change or don't travel at all. Anyway, that is what she said.

Courtyard view room at WL for Nov. 29 to Dec. 6 for $206 per night.This includes the tax. Last year the same room, at the same time, was about $50 per night less with the AP room rate. Not such a great deal this year.

Nov 19th through the 26th at POR standard view room $109 a night before tax. That is $40 off of the $149 a night rack rate for this room. $109 a night for a moderate during regular season is a good AP rate.

We got POFQ for one night 10/28 for 121.53....hoping it goes down alittle because we are getting in late that night and then switching to OKW in the morning....

We booked a FW cabin for early December at the AP Best Rate for $164 per night w/out taxes. With taxes is $182.86 per night.
Rack rate w/out taxes is $234 per night so we are saving about 30%.

What rates with tax are you getting for the Poly first weekend in dec? My AAA rate is $287-night and I'm hoping I could maybe save in the longrun with an AP.

We used an AP discount in January and got a courtyard view at WL for $149.00 (plus tax). FYI: We did a split stay that trip and also got a savanna view at AKL for $151.00/night (plus tax) with the AP discount.

You were able to book for Jan 2006 with the new "Best Rate" system? I thought it was only allowing booking through the middle of December 2005.

Wen got the Poly, lagoonview for 367.96 tax included for 12/4-12/9. I had AAA rate at 379.00 per night so it is a little savings with the AP.

It's been awhile since I stayed there, but back in 2002 my son and I stayed at the WL courtyard view for $154.00, tax included, a night.

With regard to the discounts, I think the deep discounts we have seen since 2001 are not coming back. Supply and demand...travel is up...if the rooms are filling at rack, then they don't need to discount as deeply.

Sucks not have the 40% discount like before, but anything is better than nothing and I think we have to be happy with the carrots we are seeing because they probably aren't going to be any better.

BTW, I got AKL Concierge on Oct. 26 for about $80 off rack rate.

I checked WL for Dec 17-19 and got the 185.00 courtyard view which was all that was available...last December I had the woods view (which is what I really want) and I believe it was 131.00 including the tax - that is what I am hoping for this December....

We just got AAA rate at WL Courtyard view for $241/night. We'll be staying Friday and Saturday evening (December 9 & 10).

They said AP rates aren't available yet?

we were going to stay the 9th and 10th before the cruise but now chose to stay after...I guess 185 is good then!
