Please post West Coast Excursion news!

I am really looking forward to hearing about your trip, Poconoboatniks! :D

Anyone already full of questions for those who will cruise before us? We all want to know about the excursions of course, but I am wondering what the dining rotation will be like. No real way to plan ahead or request right? What themes may be different, since on our cruise they celebrated mexicalifragilistic night. That sounds likely, but who knows? I don't mind a few surprises, and I am sure there will be. I did enjoy requesting my dining rotations. When will the formal nights be? Many of you already probably have educated guesses. This is only my second Disney cruise, so I am here to learn my friends! This is getting exciting!

Thanks to the cruise critic boards I already knew about Randi's Happy Horses and have a ressie with her for our time is Maztalan, it's the one thing we really wanted to do but we are anxiously waiting what is available at the other ports. I hope it's posted later this week, I can hardly stand it!!!!

Does the trip have to be paid in full before booking shore excursions?

What's Randi's Happy Horses? Is this the beach horseback riding in Cabo? What's the age limit?

It's horseback riding in Matzalan. There is no age limit, Randi assure me that my 4YO and 7YO will be just fine on the horses!!

Oh bummer. We're not going to Mazatlan. We're on the repo going to Florida and the stops are Acapulco, Cabo, the Canal, Curacao and CC. So...oh well

Has anyone here actually done the Randi's Happy Horses thing in Mazatlan? If so can you tell me about it? My 15 yr old would LOVE to do this.

Someone posted the website link on the first page, http://randishappyhorses.com

I first heard about Randi on cruisecritic and over the past 7 months, I've seen numerous posts about Randi's happy customers. She probably won't be the official horseback Mazatlan riding shore excursion from DCL, but she's highly recommended and has many repeat customers. Her price is $45 per person.

I have read wonderful things about randi's horses on the website. Thanks to those who posted it!

I am so excited! I am patiently awaiting excursion information. Thank you so much for all of the information. My family has warmed up to the idea of being on the ship during the race and have really gotten excited about some of the excursions that I have read about on other cruise lines... I just hope DCL offers some fun ones for people of all interests!!!! :flower1:

I e-mailed DCL asking when and how I could get information on the Panama Canal cruises. I got a response last night...

Thank you for your e-mail.

Shore excursion information is available by calling our reservations department at 800-WDW-CRUISE.

We look forward to the chance to sail with you.

Sincerely,

Jennifer

I may call and write a few down later... (maybe a few people could?)

I think that calling and writing down a few excursions would be great! I have an appt. this morning, but maybe I can try later. I wonder if they would fax the list to someone? Maybe my AAA agent? :scratchin

I called and asked about the Mexico excursions, not the Panama Canal, and was told that they won't have those available until mid-February.

What!! :earseek: Grr....some of those castmembers! Sorry guys, I should of wrote them all down. :guilty: Don't go by the mid-feb answer. The lady I talked too put me on hold and asked a supervisor. She told me no later then a week! :moped: Now lets just cross or fingers and hope that was the correct information! lol :earboy2:

Sorry folks, ;)

Travis

I heard from my AAA agent and she spoke to DCL and the excursions cannot be faxed, and are only available by phone right now. Also the rep told her that the excursion wouldn't be on the website until Mid March. I hope we don't have to wait that long! :charac2:

My DH and I did Randi's ride a few years ago. If your are looking for a formal tour, this is not. If you want a nice ride through a plantation and then along the beach then it's a great experience. The only reason I distinguish this a not being an official type tour is that you use public transportation (taxi, water taxi) all arranged by Randi and you get your horses at her partners house. It was all done professionaly and we are already booked with her for our July cruise. FYI, if you have non riders in your group they can still go and can get a ride to Victor's where the horseback ride ends. I plan on doing this with our 2 youngest (2 and 1 year old) while the rest of the group (even Grandma) does the ride. Can't wait. Randi is great. Amy :flower1:

Well, the mid-March time frame doesn't sound right to me, because in order to be able to book 90 days out for the excursions on the first sailing, the first Panama cruise, the excursions have to be up and ready to go by end of February at latest. So, I wonder what that CM is thinking.

Here is a quote from what I posted on the July 9th Cruise thread.

The excursions for Mazatlan and Cabo are loaded into the computers at DCL, Puerta Vallarta is not. This is what I found out. I did try to take notes, but I'm not trained in shorthand...
