Ooh!!! That rooms looks amazing!! :cloud9:

Is that an "official" honeymoon suite or is it labeled something different?
Just trying to gather a list of possibilities for resort/room choices.

Any pics of the view of the lobby from your floor?

I love the views-you must have had a wonderful time!!:lovestruc

Great pictures of the rooms. If we choose the GF as our free night and our contract states Delux Concierge King room, what type of room will we receive?

I have a question about planning a honeymoon. My DF and I are plannig to go to Italy for our big trip but due to all of our friends getting hitched at the time we want to go we are delaying the Ital trip for a year. SO I was wondering that since we are staying at WDW for a few days following the wedding kinda like a short honeymoon, do we just book this as a regular trip or should I tell the hotel that this is our honeymoon? Plan it differently? :confused3

I think you should definitely tell the hotel that it's your honeymoon!! From what I've seen on the disboards, it looks like you are treated exceptionally well when it is known that you are there for a very special occasion. You're a princess: :bride:!! They should know.

Then tell them I shall:cool1:

I have adjusted our reservations so many times its confusing. I need to verfiy that all is in order anyway.

Does anyone know how they determine what type of room you get for your free night? Does it go by how many room nights you fill? I do not have a contract yet but I was told I would just have a standard room.

Thanks!

I've never heard of anyone NOT getting a concierge room for their complimentary night, and it's actually written in my contract. At the Grand Floridian, however, concierge doesn't necessarily mean you'll get a turret room...:sad2:

I booked 8 nights at the Beach Club and wanted to use my free night for one of those 8 nights. I was offered the free night as an additional room so my fiance wouldn't see me before the wedding or a $90 credit on my wedding account. My sales consultant (I do not have a planner yet) said she could not touch my reservation because it was already made so the comp night would have to be separate and I will have to switch rooms. She said it was a standard room. Should I ask about this or wait until I get a planner?

Ah - I see the trouble now. In order to get a concierge room for your free night, you would have to make a separate reservation for just that night and check out, then check back in to the concierge room. Usually they encourage you to book concierge for your whole stay so that you don't have to change rooms.

However, I have heard of couples receiving a bit of pixie dust when they check in and discovering that their standard reservation has been upgraded to concierge and they can stay in the same room the whole time. But this is not at all guaranteed, of course - it's sort of a combo of availability and cast member whim.

Your sales person is the one who deals with the hotel reservations - the planner would just refer you to her. I'm surprised she didn't try to sell you on staying concierge the whole time.

Personally, I would book a separate reservation just to get a free night in concierge - who cares if I have to switch rooms? :cutie:

I see what you are saying because I reserved a standard room for the nights I am staying there, they are going to give me a standard room for the comp night. My sales manager said I would have to check out of the room anyway so maybe I will get a concierge room. I told her I don't mind moving to another room.

Thanks Lurky!

Are you getting the free rooms complementary because you are getting married there or what? I'm going for my honeymoon 12 days after my wedding. We currently have a room at Port Orleans French Quarter but are there specific honeymoon suites we can get elsewhere? We never heard anything of this until now. :-D Thanks.
