I just booked 2 nights at The Poly which I wasn't expecting to be able to do.I would appreciate any gardenview room or building recommendations.I really know very little about the Poly except that it is very popular and I am very excited to be able to stay there for 2 nights.(Kona Cafe here I come!!!) :)

I would guess that you'll hear from him, but we have a resident export on the Polynesian on the DIS boards! You can check out his website at www.tikiman2001.homestead.com

His website is a wealth of information. We are going in early December and staying at the Polynesian for the very first time (in Lagoon View rooms!!!!) :cool1: and I've visited his website more times than I can count!

Hope this helps!!!

Thank you for the link,it is probably just my ancient computer but it is telling me link not found.
Thanks!!! :)

We loved Tokelau but as they are starting to work on Hawaii next door, it might be a little noisy. I agree, Tikiman usually reads all the Poly threads. He will help you. Have a great trip! :goodvibes

Oops! The link didn't work because I typed in .coom instead of .com! :sad2:

Silly me! I've corrected and hopefully it will work now!

Silly me I didn't even notice,I looked at Tikiman's website and it is great but my computer is so.....slow it takes forever to load anything. Can anyone tell me if there are rehabbed non-smoking rooms done in any building. Also can anyone tell me the quietest building?
Thanks!!!

I have to say, seeing Tikiman's site convinced us to stay! Sorry, I have no clue on what is done with rehabs. :confused3 We have always stayed in Hawaii and I think it is done. You will enjoy the music, the landscaping, I love relaxing on the beach, Kona is a fav of whole family, DD loves the slide at pool, oh I could go on and on!

I stayed at the Polynesian over Labor Day and we stayed in Tokelau 1918 and loved it!!! There was easy access to both beaches, the TTC, the pool, and the view was awesome! From the patio we could see the beach, lagoon, and the Contemporary.

We just got back last Sunday from 8 glorious days at the Polynesian-we were in Samoa 1601...1st floor garden view facing the Volcano Pool. We've stayed in Tokelau before, but I think we liked Samoa this time for the convenience-the GCH is just steps from the room and so was the pool. Every night we caught Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach and my older kids enjoyed watching the fireworks while swimming in the pool.

My DH and I took walks to the GF every night and while walking past Fiji, someone had their curtains open and lights on so we were able to glance in at the newly remodeled room-which, I might add, looks very nice.

We ate breakfast and dinner at 'Ohana as well as Kona Cafe-all were excellent. I just wish Captain Cook's had a little more to offer, but I'm sure that may come with the remodel.

It all depends on what you're looking for-this time we opted for convenience, last time it was the view for us (we got one of the garden view rooms in Tokelau that actually has a lagoon view). If you have kids, being near one of the pools is a huge plus.

Happy researching! You'll love the resort-it's so nice to be close to the MK.

I liked Tokelau. We had a garden view room but we had a view of the lagoon and Space Mountain and CR. After researching Tikiman's site and reading his posts on the DIS, Tokelau was the best choice for us (just DH and myself, no kids yet). It was quiet (except for noisy neighbors that arrived the last 2 nights) and we could easily walk to GCH or TTC. Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone for the great responses.I am a female traveling solo and I am looking for the quietest non-smoking building and I don't mind having to walk a long distance to anything and won't be using the pool.A good nights sleep is the most important thing to me once I get back to my room.I would really like a rehabbed room if there are any buildings that have been done already that have garden views. I will atleast try and put in a request but I know thats no guarantee I'll get it but I can try.
Thanks again for all your advice!!!! :)
