Based on the advice from someone(thanks sonofanarchy) over on the D board dh and I are going to try U for a day in Oct.
We haven't been to U for years and really since we're not thrill ride fanatics didn't see much in it for us. In the last few weeks I've been researching quite a bit and see some things we'd definitely enjoy.
I can get us in through Amex fine hotels for a 1 night stay at Portofino (better than the pkg since we get $100 f and b credit, free breakfast, room upgrade, late check out etc.) , then we'll buy 1 day park to park tickets.
I expect we'll want to do Both Potter areas (prob not most of the rides...might try Gringotts based on descriptions so far but not likely forbidden journey... then more exploring) and a few others ie Jurassic park , MIB , Disaster...Im not a big 3d fan (visual motion issues) and dh isn't a big thrill ride person.
Am I correct that we can get early entry to one of the 2 HP areas, then take the Hogwarts express to the other without having to re wait in line for the 2nd are. In other words, if we go to Diagon Alley during EE (in the U park right ? ), we can then train to the other HP at I of A and we're in the area without a wait ? Or are there even waits to get into these areas? or is it just the rides? We could then do the few attractions we want at I of A then go back on foot to U. Or am I missing anything ?
Is there any midway type activities at either park ? By that I mean games etc?
