The funniest thing happened last night......D.Jay and I were watching tv in our bedroom when all of a sudden MIL comes running down the hall, litterally running, bursts into our room and says....."hurry turn on the tv to channel 4 news, they just said something about space mountain!"
She looked really upset, but I wasn't worried because I knew that had there been anything huge I would have heard about it on the Dis! So while d.Jay was changing the channel I told her it's probably just about it being closed for refurbishment most of the year, but it would be open while we're there.
The news comes back on after the comercial break and they had about a 15 second story about SM being closed, just like I had said.

She said "oh, okay" and went back to her room.
D.Jay looked at me and said "boy, I guess she's really excited about the trip!"
We had a good chuckle.

That's awesome. Before you know it, she will be DISsing with the rest of us.

That's cute Poor MIL got nervous she was going to miss something.

When we went to disneyland sm was closed, so she hasnt' experienced it yet. When we where there I "encouraged" her to ride california screamin........it was hilarious!

Ok, sorry about the cliffhanger.


Right after we booked our trip, I ordered a shirt for mil from Zazzle that said "my 1st trip to disney world". I wrapped that up in a very plain package thinking she'd pick it last. Wrong. She went straight for that one first. We had told the kids the night before, not to say anything! We wanted to see how long it would take her to figure it out.

As she started to open it we were all quiet. The kids looked so excited!

She opened it.......stared at it for a second, looked at us............looked back at the shirt. This went on for almost a minute.
Finally, she looked at D.Jay with a big grin on her face and aked..."does this mean what I think it does?"

The kids practically yelled in unison....."we're taking you to disneyworld!" It was really funny.

She got more excited as the day went on.............and there was alot of day left because the kids woke us up at 5!!!
We watched most of the disneyworld parade. She nearly lost it when she found out she got to go to epcot too!

The day went great! But little did I know, she had told her oldest son and wife about the trip. Earlier I mentioned that I was afraid of them wanting to go at the same time...remember that? Well, when she told them that we were taking her, sister in law got all excited and wants to go at the same time too! She even told mil how great it would be to have someone to sit with her and the baby while others were on the rides..............um, I don't think so.
I love brother and sis in law and enjoy spending time with them......but not on vacation! Right now, I'm just praying that they don't decide to go. MIL told me that sis in law wants me to call her...........there ain't no way in hades I'm going to! I told D.Jay it's his family so he should deal with it! MIL doesn't even realy want them to go at the same time. They just add so much stress, because they bicker and fight non stop! Besides the fact that I've planned for months and have adr's that I"m not canceling and the likelihood of being able to add another 7 people is about a snow balls chance in hell!

Ok, now that I've gotten that out, I'm just going to keep praying that it was just a spur of the moment thing and nothing will come of it. If it turns out that they do go..........well, you'll probably hear a report of a crazed woman and an incident with the in laws at the happiest place on earth.

I can't imagine having 2 teenage girls at once!!! My parents had 3 teenage dd's all at once..........It's no wonder my Dad is a little "off" now! It was year round pms!!!

My DH has said he needsanother garage. Not only do we have our three but my 19 yo cousin moved in with us to go to school. And our inside pets are girls.

Yesterday I was up to my elbows in old papers and random junk that didn't have a home. I had undertaken the herculean task of cleaning the home office........actually that sounds too fancy. My home office is literaly a closet. Seriously. But it is the brain center for the family, which is really scary considering the mess it was in.
Sorry, got a little sidetracked. I was interupted by a phone call from Ethan....I heard this pitifull little voice..."Mom, can you come get me? I tripped and hurt my knee, it's bleeding and I just can't make it the rest of the day."
How is it that kids know the exact tone to tug their mom's heart strings? It really isn't fair. Anyhoo, I was glad to get a break from the dungeon and hurried to pick him up. I nearly started to cry when I walked in the office and saw him sitting, very degectedly. He looked like his best friend had died. He showed me his knee which he now calls his "injury". It was a pretty good mess.
So, to make him feel better I offered to let him help me with something else on my "to do" list........the count down chart. I have to admit this is progress for me, I'm not good and turning things like that over to the kids. I have a vision of how I want it to look. But seeing his face light up at the offer made the tongue bitting and hand slapping (to keep myself in control) was well worth it. I even let him into the "sacred" scrapbook closet.

If so, how are they attached? (can you see the wheels turning in my head as I try to figure out how I'm going to do ours this year??)

Great job, Cherie and Ethan!!! I know what you mean about relinquishing control -- I have a hard time doing that, too. The other night Chelsea wanted to help me scrapbook a layout I was doing from the June trip, and I let her -- all the while biting my tongue to not say anything negative. It turned out cute.

Oh, I cannot wait until it is time to get the new travel documents!!! I am so easily impressed -- I love the new luggage tags!

Question for you - how do you count down on yours? When I did mine last time I used post it notes and just took each one off at the end of the day. Is that what you'll be doing? If so, how are they attached? (can you see the wheels turning in my head as I try to figure out how I'm going to do ours this year??)

I put strips of double sided tape in rows and Ethan just put the mickey heads along them. We put a sticker over the number each morning...........I have a bunch of left over heads if you are in need!

I'm not sure. I don't remember it being in the package deal so I was suprised and excited to get them. We got 2 since we had to book 2 rooms. Sad isn't it, that I'm so excited over that, even though I know I'm going to need to buy 2 more now for the other 2 kids. Normally I wouldn't have bought them.
