please no pictures of half eaten food

Lots of people post their pictures on this board. It's easy to post the pictures. It's a lot more work to write a review to go with them. So, the message is for people on this board.

And, I agree with the OP. No more pictures of half-eaten meals. And, enough with the pictures of run-of-the-mill burgers, fries, hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches and whatnot.

If you want to post pictures of your V&A courses or your Bistro de Paris dessert, great. That's sexy food porn.

If you want to post pictures of your half-eaten food court burger on a paper plate piled high with onions, with fries and ketchup on the side, don't. That's gross food porn.

Post only if the food is unique, interesting or especially artistic. Sorry, your food court pancakes do not qualify.

I personally like the run of the mill stuff to see if the quality, presentation, or portions have changed.

For all you 'shroom haters out there - I'D TURN BACK IF I WERE YOU!!!

And now. . . a word from our sponsor

What a fun guy.

I think that is gross, maybe its just me. Lily and Giny's dad.

Thanks for posting this. This has been bothering me for sometime now. While I love looking at the food pics, I just hate seeing half eaten food pics!

I also wanted to add that I don't really like buffet food pics. It just looks like piles of slop to me. I prefer to see the artistic presentation of food at table service restaurants. JMO.

Seriously??!! Geez, then just don't look. I'll take food porn anyway I can get it. If I'm not interested, I scroll down:rolleyes1 . This is just to wierd:scared: :upsidedow

OK MickeyNicki - you are now about to be introduced to the third way you will love mushrooms. Simply follow the following steps:

For each 1/2 lb. of button (white) mushrooms:

Heat to boiling
1/4 cup of corn oil
2 Tbsp of white vinegar
1 clove of minced garlic
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp sugar
2 whole pepper corns
1 bay leaf

Brush mushrooms off with damp paper towel, trim off bottoms of stems (if large mushrooms cut into halves, thirds or quarters). Add to mixture and boil slowly for 7 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

These make great hors d'oeuvres, additions to anti pasto or mixed with diced tomatoes and served as a salad on bibb lettuce.

Enjoy!!!

Thanks! I will have to try these, DH loves a marinated mushroom!

I don't mind the half eaten pics at all. It's not like anyone is making me actually eat them or anything.
And I love the buffet and the "run of the mill" food pics as those are ones that I'm more likely to be seeing when I go on my trip. I like seeing it in different views and stuff.

Okay so I was just stating my personal opinion that half eaten food pics are gross. I suppose that I should just look the other way like I do when I see a guy on the beach wearing a speedo (I think that is gross too!) My wife wants me to let everyone know that this is my reply -Lily & Giny's Dad. However she agrees on both counts. :fish:

I have to agree. There is something really unappetizing about a close up view of someone's half eaten food. :sad2: I will admit I love food porn and think this site is hilarious, I am just agreeing that the site of the half eaten food does not make my mouth water, but I have also been scorned when I admit I hate watching people pick out their teeth with toothpicks :rotfl: so there may be something very wrong with me.. however I am very glad people are posting and still love hearing their opinion of what they did eat and that is the beauty of these boards, the ability to say what you want and post what you want...

To Mister Disney, Obyolshoi, MickeyNicki, CampbellScot, and all others who take their time to post their reviews and pictures,

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!

I really appreciate the time it takes to write a food review and post the pictures for us. It has really helped over the years in planning my trips and choosing where I would like to have meals. The pictures especially give me a good idea of the quality of the food. I don't care if your potatoes are mixed with your peas or if your sandwich is half eaten. Keep posting those pics for those of us who look forward to them!

It seems simple to me... if you don't like the pics then don't look. Skip the post or the thread. Those of us who don't care and enjoy any pic we can get will still bee looking and reading!

HEY...whats wrong with guys in speedos on the beach?

ooopppss....wrong channel!

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

Have no fear, I will never stop posting food porn of any kind....I may even get carried away and start taking pictures of other peoples meal. I can see it now, "Excuse me I know you dont know me and will never see me again but I am on the Dis forum and I need to know what you ordered, how do you like it and can I please take a picture of it? Inquiring minds want to know"

Or you could become so addicted, like me, that you start taking pictures of food outside of WDW. In Vegas a waiter actually asked me if I was a food critic ... :rotfl2:

I responded, "In my spare time." ;)

I'm sorry to say this but, I can't even recall a picture of half-eaten food the way it was described by the people who don't like it. :confused3 I mean, I remember seeing a bite taken out of something (several bites if we're counting that awesome wedding cake pic :thumbsup2 ) but never anything that had turned into mush (except the aftermath of a Kitchen Sink, where I personally feel the photo should be regarded as a badge of courage) or had bits of fat and gristle hanging off it. Maybe my subconscious blocked them out like a painful childhood trauma, but I honestly don't remember.

Are there really people here on the DIS who eat most of their food and then stir the rest into a chunky mess before taking a picture? Because surely that's the sort of thing you do on purpose. It's food torture porn! :scared1:

I get that obviously food is prettiest when it's come from a nice restaurant and the chef has carefully arranged it for you. But I like food that isn't pretty too. My mom's meatloaf isn't exactly a splendor to behold, but it sure is delicious and if I had a picture of it I wouldn't be thinking about how it looks, I'd be thinking about how it tastes and that memory would make me happy. So I'm pretty certain that's why quite a few of us don't mind the 'deconstructed' food art that is sometimes seen in reviews. We're not focused on the teeth marks in the sandwich or the fork dent in the mashed potatoes, we're focused on the great memories we have of making our own teeth marks and fork dents. ... At least, that's what I'm doing.

It's not so simple, because for those of us who get nauseous looking at half eaten food (I can't even wash the dishes unless each person rinses ALL evidence of food off their plate) we would have to avoid every post on the restaurant board. I'll be going along looking at some great pics and then wham! someone slips some half eaten plate in there and I have to leave the DIS.

If we could get a small comment above the picture warning us, then we could scroll past that post quickly, and still enjoy the majority of the pics like everyone else.

OMG! 176 (now 177) replies on this.

Porn is Porn!! Whether if be food, WDW, lions, tigers, bears or whatever......Dont like it move on.

That being said, personally I do not like children (were DINKS)- so I would ask that you refrain from letting them be in your photos.

For the OP and others with issues regarding the condition of food, I have edited my post with the last food pictures I uploaded.

I haven't taken the time to do the research, but I have a question. Does the OP and the others with issues post food pictures? Not saying this is the case, but, if you don't participate I don't think you have the right to complain.

Too everyone, regardless of the condiiton of your food. Keep posting your porn...all your porn.

Well this is part of why I never bother to share photos at all. I don't need the grief! :sad2: I feel like I have to have perfect shots of whatever I am photographing to be able to share it so I just don't bother.
I suppose this is my preachy rant, but I think the bulk of us, and when I say us, I include myself, are just a bunch of selfish whiny crybabies who count our greivances more than our blessings. Spending our time stressing mudane stupid things like half eaten food pics, and whether or not some stranger followed our moral code or how unfair it is that we had to walk so far to our room because the front desk didn't honor our request. I wonder if those things would matter if we were suddenly struck blind or we put our kids to bed hungry at night because we didn't have any food to give them, would we care if no joe from Kokomo reused his mug from two Christmases ago, if we had to worry about living in fear because terrorists controlled our neighborhoods, would it matter how far you had to walk if you had to choose between walking there or being carried because your legs no longer worked and you have no health insurance to help pay for the medicine to ease your suffering:guilty:
I have a suggestion  and I don't care if I'm flamed I'm sure I need to be most of the time; lets be grateful and set the example for our children if we have them, so they know not to cut in line or be rude or under tip. Lets be that person that others encounter and think wow what an awesome attitude! Instead of going to Disney to encounter the magic, let's be the ones who give it!:lovestruc
