Hi
if you sadly are found while cruising to be positive and get quarantine
how does meals work ?
can you order same food as mdr ? what about soda and coffee and such

not that I want to be quarantine triple vaccinated and already done covid in dec
but I want to be prepared and know exactly how it works
thanks!

If you are quarantined onboard, CMs will deliver meals from the MDR. There is also room-service as another option (I believe they will waive any $ during quarantine). I suppose if there was something else you wanted that is available from a quick-service location, you could request it.

Meals question has been answered, but the other thing to keep in mind is you have to pack your bags and move to a stateroom in the quarantine area. To date, that has been decks 1 and 2 and sometimes part of deck 5. So no guarantees you’ll be able to keep your current cabin type.

of course one never knows ..
but since 3 x vaccinated plus having had the covid already I would be quite unlucky if this shall happen

How long is your cruise? If it's a 3 or 4 day, you won't even test again once onboard, so the only way you'd really be quarantined if you aren't bringing kids to the kids club is if you exhibit symptoms and have to test onboard.

Is it different if you have a kid in the clubs? do they test them every time they enter?

I'm not sure if its changed, but you're with the same group of kids during the Oceaneer's Club time. If one of those kids in the same group has symptoms and tests positive, they quarantined all the kids in that same group, regardless of symptoms or test results.

Kids in the Club/Lab are grouped by arrival time -- so your child will be in a group with others arriving around the same time. They'll move through the activities offered during their 1.5 (or 2.5) hours.

Unvaccinated kids are tested on the day prior to debarkation for cruises of 5+ nights. If one of those kids who was grouped with your child during the week tests positive, your child will be considered a close contact and need to quarantine.

Well I am traveling without kids
So being 3 x vaccinated
Having had covid in dec
Travelling without children
I’d have to be really unlucky to catch covid again

Not traveling with kids just me and my husband

Do they do onboard "contract tracing"? For example, if someone at a MDR table near me becomes ill, do they quarantine everyone in a certain radius? Or, what if server tests positive? Two adults, triple vaxed, wear masks everywhere.

They certainly do it for the kids clubs. I don't know, otherwise.

These are very valid questions and i would certainly like to know the protocols for this situation. It could happen to any of us that one of our serving team becomes infected, so are we automatically quarantined?
If you are on a long sailing then perhaps the odds increase of this happening or someone bringing it onboard from a port.
These are issues that I’d like to consider prior to sailing. Interesting to hear first hand if anyone has that knowledge.

The reason you aren't finding personal experiences here is that there are very few guests currently being quarantined on Disney ships. This is a result of the cruises being shorter and, more importantly, the embarkation day testing policy. Head over to the Celebrity, RCL, and Carnival boards on other cruising forums to read experiences of those writing from quarantined rooms. Although Disney's own protocols will be somewhat different, you can get a very good idea of what life is like on board in quarantine.

I wanted experiences from guests
Just because I am a planner and like to know what might ( god forbid happen
I like to know things ahead so I know and am mentally prepared ( again god forbid )

i know other cruise lines have lots of cases and handle them differently
But I’ll cruise dcl and just wanted input .

Yes it will be interesting to hear of anyone on the WBPC when it sails which I should have been on but got cold feet and switched to the EBTA in May.
Naturally everything can change and I wouldn’t wish this situation on anyone , but I have a very nervous friend sailing with me and I don’t want to worry her, but need to give her some insight as to what could happen to allow her to decide whether or not to proceed. Personally I’d cope with it, but I’m not sure she would. I’m not talking about us catching Covid but DCL’s protocols if we are a close contact.
If she does not want to sail in May we have the WBTA in Sept as a back up and then 2023 we will try again!

Does Disney tell you let’s say you were in close contact with someone ?
For an exemple in MDR either as your table mare than those next ?
Do they then put you in quarantine Also ?
Haven’t thought of that 🤔 would they put you in quarantine ?

Right now I'm booked on the WBPC and this is one of the things I'm worried about!!

I would like to know the experience based on what happens you were on a port adventure and that person is positive. Would they make everyone quarantine from that group?
