I started a Disney website a few months ago, and I'm getting absolutely no traffic. Could someone please vsit this site, this isn't a solicitation, it's an asking for help.

You said you weren't getting much traffic to your site. Have you submitted your site to various search engines, so it is easier to find?

Yes, but search engines take a loooooong time to index you. I've been waiting since the day my site opened. (May 1st to be precise, I must've screwed up when I said "a few months"). And of course when I do get indexed, I'll probably be on page 87 when someone types in "Walt Disney World".

Well, your site looks nice, so I have no idea what the problem may be. I would imagine people are having a hard time finding your site. You could go to some of the more popular Disney sites and ask them if they could put a link to your site somewhere on their site. You may have already done this....I just can't really think of anything else.

Same here. I heard this crazy rumor that the favorites menu can hold stuff other than Disney sites and on Google you can enter phrases that don't contain the word Disney. Some people make up the strangest things.

I just want to thank this message board and all of its members. Thanks to you I now have more traffic than I have ever had on a website. I now have a links page, which includes a link to Disboards.

Ok, IMHO, the reason you haven't gotten any traffic is that there are (I guess in my mind) 500 other Disney 'conversation' oriented bulletin boards around. I could name a few, but I'm sure you aware of those....

I don't have enough time to visit the ones that I already frequent, I'd have a hard time making the time for yet another without a <i>good</i> reason to visit, or information that I can't easily find here on the DIS.....

Here is a reason why you should visit my site, if you truely do want one:

The Disboards have 51,584 members. Mine doesn't have nearly as many. That makes Disboards better right? Not necessarily. Bigger isn't always better. Since my board is smaller, it allows you to know all of the members better. On my board everyone can get to know each other. On the Disboards there's no way you could know everyone. The most frequent posters maybe, but certainly not everyone. You may like that, you may not. To each their own.

I'm not saying that my board is better than Disboards and you should only visit mine, I'm saying that my board is different. If your like me, you visit several Disney sites daily. I doubt anyone here visits just Disboards, but if they do, that's fine. If you want to visit my board, that's great! but if you want to stay here, that's fine too. I'm not going to say "MY BOARD BETTER, U COME HERE".
