Not sure of your age - some of these might not be relevent to you if you aren't 40ish:

for old stuff (circa 1985) I like:
"Careless Whisper".....Wham!
"Say You, Say Me".....Lionel Richie
"Separate Lives".....Phil Collins & Marilyn Martin
"I Want To Know What Love Is".....Foreigner
"Broken Wings".....Mr. Mister
"We Built This City".....Starship
"One Night In Bangkok".....Murray Head
"We Belong".....Pat Benatar
"Never".....Heart

I also like older country stuff by Johnny Cash, George Strait, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers

Can't help with "current" music because I don't really listen to it.

1) Sean Connery singing "My Pretty Irish Girl" (from the Disney movie, "I captured the King of the Leprecauns").

2) and Cliff Edwards singing, "When You Wish Upon a Star" (1940's version) sung BEFORE he was chosen to sing that song for the Disney movie we all know and love. How he sings it sounds like a lot like a ballroom waltz tune.

3) I have also just added Frank Sinantra's "New York" song on it as well (got a NYC trip booked for April 2012).
4) and Don Ho singing "Tiny Bubbles" (gotta Hawaiian vacation booked for Oct 28 2011 for 7 nghts - 2 islands:goodvibes).

In short, I have music on my i-pod that's tied to my upcoming vacations and helps me be in a vacation mood (esp when we are hosting the Super Bowl in a few more weeks.....wish us luck as we are OVERSOLD THAT WHOLE WEEK!!:scared1:).

(Got about 1780 tunes on my 8-gig i-pod and use it everyday as it sits on my docking station on "shuffle." )

Only 162 more days until my upcoming vacation to Ireland:cloud9:.

P.s. CURRENT FAV?

Some of my favorite tunes that pick my step up when I'm walking (only time I really listen to my Ipod) are .......

Corrine Bailey Ray - "Put Your Record on"
Fleetwood Mac - "Everywhere"
Don Henley - "All She Wants to do is Dance"
Steppenwolf - "Magic Carpet Ride"
Nazareth - "Hair of the Dog"
Gwen Stefani - "Sweet Escape"

A bit of variety is good for you :)

One of my recent favorites is "Bad Things" by Jace Everett (aka the theme from True Blood).

MY favorites, you know that age old question "if you were stranded on a deserted island and could only take one CD" or whatever:

I love love love Jack Johnson. My faves of his are from the Curious George soundtrack, but love a lot of his other stuff.

I also love Mark McGuinn. Most have never heard of him, but I love his style of music.

I could sit and listen to these two all day. Esp if I can throw in my three fav Uncle Kracker songs:

Follow Me
Smile
Not Another Love Song

I only use my ipod for work outs. It usually depends on my mood, but mainly random play from the following cd's Pink (my spin instructor loves "raise your glass" {in our case raise your waterbottle:rotfl:}, Lady GaGa, and Shakira.

The following are complete CD's on my Ipod. I have a lot of random songs that I like too, but these are all ones where I actually like all the songs on the CD's if that makes sense!

Abba – The Definitive Collection
Aerosmith - Big Ones
Bon Jovi – New Jersey
Cher – The Very Best of Cher
Darius Rucker – Learn to Live
Daughtry – Daughtry & Leave this Town
Elton John – Rocket Man: Number Ones
Eminem – Recovery
Glee – Most of the Soundtracks
Katy Perry – Teenage Dream
Nickelback – All the Right Reasons & Dark Horse
Pat Benatar – Greatest Hits
Pink – Greatest Hits…So Far!!
Poison – The Best of Poison 20 Years of Rock
A LOT of the Now that’s what I call Music
