You can still look for cancellations.
To be honest, I am not sure I would want to be on a ship that is filled with 80% Platinum CC members. You will not be able to book anything popular on board (excursions, special dining, tastings). Also my experience is that that demographic can sometimes be a bit entitled. Not saying everyone is like that, but on my Panama Canal cruise that had more Platinums than any other cruise I had been on, there were people who behaved like they owned the ship.
I originally thought we wouldn’t get a chance to book, but as the hours tick by, I’m slightly more confident for tomorrow morning, or possibly picking up a cancellation!I posted the available cabins (as of 5-6 am CT Tuesday) in a thread. Depending on what you are looking for, you may get a room. Over 300 cabins left.
I was more interested in availability than price and just let it default to 2 guests.
I think someone else mentioned - “Hold” bookings fall off at 3 days. And there is still over a year to go. I think some (or many) will reconsider their choice.
I am right there with you. I live in Tampa so it is a short (ish) drive and I can wait until around January 2025 to do Lighthouse Point, that is what we did for the Wish, and will probably do for the Treasure. But we did book a cruise in the Mediterranean.Don't give up people may have only placed a hold on a room and will not make the payment, keep checking back.
This is the cruise I wanted to do, but my husband wanted the British Isles, I gave him the win. I will get to see London again and then eventually get to LP. We are 15 minutes from Ft. Lauderdale so I will get on one going there sooner rather than later....... I hope.
Good Luck
Unfortunately the damage to the price is already done. Still $812 more today to book the exact same 11B cabin as three days ago on the one I looked at. Yay dynamic pricing...9:45pm pacific on Thursday night and all room categories except for concierge are now showing as available. Guess a lot of Platinum holds just dropped off![]()
It was weird because I booked on silver opening day and I picked a room that had an assigned number. Later in the day a gty 4 a was available and you would think it would be lower price, but nope same price I would have paid for the assigned number. I will keep checking regularly to see if concierge opens up. Since it's on the fantasy it will be my first time on that and I wanted to make sure I can experience certain stuff.Unfortunately the damage to the price is already done.
