Please keep your arms, legs, and antlers inside the vehicle*UPDATE 4/1:NO FOOLIN!

So when we left off you were at the edge of your seat waiting to see what I bought. I can't believe you've been waiting for this for a week. You ready...I bought...

A STUFFED HIPPO! He was super cute and I knew my son would love him. I had picked him up in every store and then put him back down. I wasn't sure about trying to pack him, and he had an Animal Kingdom logo on his rump and I hadn't told Hunter we were going there. (He loves Animal Kingdom). Here they are on Christmas morning.

I think we all bought a couple of things and then we headed over to Animal Kingdom Lodge to dine at Boma. Here's a couple of extra pictures.

At one point we stopped in at First Aid for some headache medicine and Michelle took this picture. To be honest I kind of just wanted to see what the first aid looked like inside. Cute and friendly or course.

We were soon to AKL and it was beautiful as usual. There was a Photopass CM taking pictures in front of the massive Christmas tree so we decided to have some taken. We walk up and the guy goes, "It's just you guys?" Yup. "No kids?" Nope. "Cool". He seemed to enjoy having a different kind of group. Especially when he kept having us squeeze closer and closer together and had me flip my hair around..."Um, you are a Disney photographer, right?"

After our boarderline inappropriate photoshoot we were ready for dinner at Boma. Sara had never been before and we were all very excited to be there. So excited that we didn't take any pictures.:confused3 We got a good table out of the way from the traffic, but close to the meat station. Perfect. We all ordered drinks. Michelle and I had $11 strawberry and lychee margarita's that were ok, and Sara had...something else. Um, a blackberry mojito maybe? Our waitress was just ok. Soon, we were digging in, plateful after yummy plateful. Everything was very good. For those of you who are apprehensive to try this place you should go. I am the pickiest person I know and I love it here. We inquired about the alcohol in the zebra domes and we were informed that it is cooked off, but they have to put the info out for people who don't consume alcohol for religious reasons. Good to know since I let my child eat 5 of them last time we were there because I didn't see the sign.:upsidedow Soon we were stuffed and we rolled each other out of there.

We decided to do a little shopping in the resort giftshop, and I believe this must be when the alcohol must have kicked in because soon we were doing this:

Again, we were laughing hysterically and some kids were staring at us. WTH? Haven't these kids ever seen adults have fun before? My kids wouldn't give goofy adults a second look. They're used to it.:upsidedow

After they kicked us out of the store we decided to go wake up some giraffes. We wandered out to the fire pit and then walked around the outdoor observation area a little. It was dark so all we saw was a couple of birds and some deer like thing. It was so weird. There's this cove like viewing area and they have a CM stationed there. She just stands there in the dark? We declared her job the most boring in all of Disney.

We left AKL and decided to head over to DTD to do some shopping. Well, us and every other person in Orlando! It was a Friday night and it was INSANE. We never even got near the full parking lots. We decided if it was that crazy in the parking lot we didn't want to attempt to try to navigate the stores. So, we drove back to the condo and hung out. This was such a great night. A yummy meal and then just hanging out with my best friends. Another awesome day came to an end.

Next up: Houston, we have a problem...Seriously Houston, we have a BIG PROBLEM!

Great update as usual Monica! I was hanging on the edge of my seat though about that hippo!!! :lmao:

Yes, I think I had a blackberry mojito and it was good, just a little too much mint for me! I like a little less shrubbery in my mojitos! Just a little! :p

Boma was so amazing! I feel like I have to go there every trip now!

Ugh on the full body pic in front of the tree...not a flattering angle!!! :crazy2:

That DTD traffic was the worse I have ever seen! That was crazy! We had fun talking and laughing in the car while waiting to turn into the parking lot though, didn't we? :grouphug:

What a great day it was!!! :goodvibes

Sara

These updates are making me miss you girls terribly! :grouphug:

What a fun night we had! I had totally forgotten about that photopass CM at AKL. He was something alright! :rotfl:

Boma was so yummy! It was so nice and relaxing to sit in there with friends and not have to get up every five minutes to fix my kid a plate! (Just every five minutes to fix myself another plate)

Uh oh on "Houston we have a problem" :scared1:

Thanks for reading Sara and Michelle!:rotfl2: Am I telling it the right way? I always feel like I'm forgetting stuff. At least on my family report I could make stuff up and no one knew any better!:lmao:

:rotfl2: Monica!

You're telling it great. Making me wish I'd be there. I can't even imagine sitting there not having to worry about fixing somebody a plate.

I'm interested to see what exactly the "problem" was.

And I can't BELIEVE Hunter is so big! Did he notice the Animal Kingdom logo? Way to leave us hanging Monica. :)

I'm loving your report and all the pictures! Animal Kingdom is one of my favorite parks. Doing a girls trip would be so much fun. Can't wait to read more!

Hi Monica,
I love the pics of the three of you, they are very cute! I definitely want to try Boma sometime. Wish you had food pics but that means you were having too much fun :goodvibes. I had no idea there is alcohol in zebra domes. We had counter service at AKL back in 2006 and my kids ate them for dessert. Good thing it's cooked off . Love the gift shop pics :lmao:. DTD was a nightmare when we went on a Friday night :crowded:, it was just miserable.

What a great update! You had me giggling! I do have to say that all 3 of you look like you have pinkish cheeks in the gift shop photos ~ classic sign of a good drink! ;)

I chuckled when you mentioned giving Hunter the 5 zebra domes. I'd forgotten that. Glad to know for sure that it cooks off!

And Miss Sara! You are beautiful from any angle!

Wow Heather, you posted right away! I'm impressed!LOL!!! It was nice to put ourselves first and not have to make plates for kids. Love my kids, but they are not buffet friendly. I know Hunter and Megan are both growing so fast.:sad2: Megan is almost tall enough to ride Space Mountain!!!! She's so off the chart, she was off the paper!:rotfl: He has now seen our pictures and knows that we went and is ok with it. Guess our girl's trip didn't appeal to him!

Hi! Glad you came over to read. My family also loves Animal Kingdom. It's a 2 day park for us usually. The girl's trip was awesome, especially at Epcot. A completely different experience without kids. Thanks for reading!:)

You must try Boma sometime. It's so good. We've come to the conclusion that the best time to go to DTD is on a Sunday morning. Go against the grain when you're at Disney. You'd think the three of us would have known that!:rotfl:

Hey Nichole! I'm always so happy to see your posts. I miss our goofiness from our trip reports last year. Pink cheeks from a good drink and alot of laughing. Yes, I was worried that I got my kid drunk at Disney!

As for Sara, I second that!!:flower3:

Oh Monica, I'll be around a lot more from now on. I made reservations today! I got a pin code last night for free dining in the fall when we're going and I could barely sleep last night. Called first thing this morning on the way to work. I'll be updating my pre-trip more often now, so I'll definitely be checking in with you guys. :) I've missed you!

Am I the ONLY person on the DIS who hasn't gotten a code this week?!!!! :sad2: :sad1: I probably wouldn't get to use it, but it would be nice to be considered! Congrats to you though.:)

No, you're not the only one...:sad2:

Monica

My kids had a stuffed hippo when they were little . I at first thought it was really weird but then it grew on me. We still have it . Does yours need a mate?!
I love the hat pictures. You know that if we ever go together I will be the one behind the camera for the hat pictures right? You know how I feel about putting something on my head that a million others have had on their heads. You might call it germaphobic....my family calls it slightly insane.

Okay...next update please! Who is Houston and what is his problem?

Hi Lynn! Long time no "talk"!!:rotfl: I really wish you'd quit pointing out how unsanitary we were!:lmao: You might not want to read the rest of the report if it grosses you out! There was one point where we said we might heave to name this report, "We got lice at Disney World!" I'm not much of a germaphobe and my family is hardly ever sick so we're sticking to our unsanitary ways!!LOL!! If we all go we might have to hold you down and put a hat on ya!

Maybe with enough Grey Goose Slushies we could get a hat on Lynn! Might not even have to hold her down!!! :rotfl2: Of course, she's little so it wouldn't take much to actually hold her down....then again, she teaches kickboxing, right? Hmmm...might want to rethink that...maybe just getting her intoxicated would work! She would look great in a sombrero!!! ::yes::

Yes, but Michelle's a black belt! Michelle can take her!:lmao: If we're gonna hold her down and make her wear a hat it should be a good one like with horns and blond braids!:thumbsup2

Hi everyone. I've been really sick, but I hope to get an update up this weekend. Have a nice Valentine's Day.

I've really enjoyed reading your trip report. And I must say I'm incredibly jealous about a girls only trip. The joy of only worrying about myself for a few days! Thank you for sharing!

Hope you are feeling better soon!!!!
