So when we left off you were at the edge of your seat waiting to see what I bought. I can't believe you've been waiting for this for a week. You ready...I bought...
A STUFFED HIPPO! He was super cute and I knew my son would love him. I had picked him up in every store and then put him back down. I wasn't sure about trying to pack him, and he had an Animal Kingdom logo on his rump and I hadn't told Hunter we were going there. (He loves Animal Kingdom). Here they are on Christmas morning.
I think we all bought a couple of things and then we headed over to Animal Kingdom Lodge to dine at Boma. Here's a couple of extra pictures.
At one point we stopped in at First Aid for some headache medicine and Michelle took this picture. To be honest I kind of just wanted to see what the first aid looked like inside. Cute and friendly or course.
We were soon to AKL and it was beautiful as usual. There was a Photopass CM taking pictures in front of the massive Christmas tree so we decided to have some taken. We walk up and the guy goes, "It's just you guys?" Yup. "No kids?" Nope. "Cool". He seemed to enjoy having a different kind of group. Especially when he kept having us squeeze closer and closer together and had me flip my hair around..."Um, you are a Disney photographer, right?"
After our boarderline inappropriate photoshoot we were ready for dinner at Boma. Sara had never been before and we were all very excited to be there. So excited that we didn't take any pictures.
We got a good table out of the way from the traffic, but close to the meat station. Perfect. We all ordered drinks. Michelle and I had $11 strawberry and lychee margarita's that were ok, and Sara had...something else. Um, a blackberry mojito maybe? Our waitress was just ok. Soon, we were digging in, plateful after yummy plateful. Everything was very good. For those of you who are apprehensive to try this place you should go. I am the pickiest person I know and I love it here. We inquired about the alcohol in the zebra domes and we were informed that it is cooked off, but they have to put the info out for people who don't consume alcohol for religious reasons. Good to know since I let my child eat 5 of them last time we were there because I didn't see the sign.
Soon we were stuffed and we rolled each other out of there.
We decided to do a little shopping in the resort giftshop, and I believe this must be when the alcohol must have kicked in because soon we were doing this:
Again, we were laughing hysterically and some kids were staring at us. WTH? Haven't these kids ever seen adults have fun before? My kids wouldn't give goofy adults a second look. They're used to it.
After they kicked us out of the store we decided to go wake up some giraffes. We wandered out to the fire pit and then walked around the outdoor observation area a little. It was dark so all we saw was a couple of birds and some deer like thing. It was so weird. There's this cove like viewing area and they have a CM stationed there. She just stands there in the dark? We declared her job the most boring in all of Disney.
We left AKL and decided to head over to DTD to do some shopping. Well, us and every other person in Orlando! It was a Friday night and it was INSANE. We never even got near the full parking lots. We decided if it was that crazy in the parking lot we didn't want to attempt to try to navigate the stores. So, we drove back to the condo and hung out. This was such a great night. A yummy meal and then just hanging out with my best friends. Another awesome day came to an end.
Next up: Houston, we have a problem...Seriously Houston, we have a BIG PROBLEM!
