My son is 13, 5'10, and weighs about 120. Very active and healthy. A few weeks ago, after football practice, his vitals signs went crazy...high blood pressure, pulse, he was white. He said the coach worked him extra hard, and he hadn't eaten much at lunch. We pumped him full of fluids. After a while, everything got back to normal. Fast forward to today. Got ANOTHER call...same thing, but heart rate is still a little high. Nurse said if it doesn't go down, take him to the ER. It has gone down, but I am taking him to the doctor at 9AM. He's not happy about it, "everythings okay" he says, but I am taking him anyway. PLEASE pray that there's nothing seriously wrong. He is my baby, and I can't STAND the thought of ANYTHING being wrong. My older daughter had chemo and a bone marrow transplant years ago for an immune deficiency, and is PERFECT now...and we have been blessed that nothing else has happened. Just praying it stays that way!!!

Of course please keep us updated:hug:

I will pray for your family but please take this very seriously and get your son a thorough exam. I would consider no more football until you get to the bottom of this. Please keep us posted too!!

Im a nursing student, so I checked him out just 1 minute ago here at work. His pulse is 106, and I BARELY touched his chest and felt his heart pounding, AND his pulse is skipping a beat as well. He said when he "kinda squeezes his shoulders together towards his chest" it hurts. My bf is stopping at home to get the cell phone, and then taking him to the ER. I'll keep you posted. I am trying to call someone to work (I work at a hotel desk, and am alone, so I cannot leave).

Will do.. Check back in when you can..

Just called to check on things. Dylan (my ds) has been given an EKG. The results are not back yet. TY SO MUCH for your prayers!!!

 Here's hoping he is ok. My son was sent home with similar stuff from High school. I ran to the doctor only to have him tell me he was fine. Normal heart rate. Normal BP. Nothing to worry about. Here's to you getting the same news.

That's what I am praying for! His pulse after 2 hours at rest was 106, and THAT'S what really has me worried. Also, I have never noticed his pulse skipping a beat. I am dreading calling his dad. Last time he was ill he didn't call me back to check on him till the next day :scared1:

We haven't heard anything on the EKG yet, but due to the pain in his chest when moving his shoulders, he is in X-Ray right now. It feels weird to vent my scared thoughts here...but I am worried, and, of course, alone at work :sad1: TY so much for your thoughts and prayers...just ANOTHER reason why I LOVE the disboards!

Sending you my best wishes for a great result. Hope it´s nothing.

Has he been drinking/eating a lot of caffeine? Using nicotine, cough/cold medicine, or allergy meds? I'm sure the nurse/doctor has asked you all that, just a thought. Praying for him.

Nope...he has allergy meds but hasnt taken them in months. He is on Concerta for ADHD, but has been for years, so we don't believe it is that. He does however eat a little too much salt...we were going to have his thyroid tested this week, and still will tomorrow. Just praying that it's something simple. STILL waiting on the DR to come in with the results. I have been calling them every 20 minutes. My boss hasn't even answered their phone :scared1:
