Girlfriend! What a well written and 100% true post. Without VMK I never would have met you! And what a loss in my life that would have been. So you get disconnected, oh well, log back on. So what you have to wait in a line for a game, you dont want to wait, dont play it. And dont go to Disney World in July LOL

I cant imagine not playing VMK, not talking with my friends, not chasing ghosts, or checking the Emporium every Fri for new stuff.

Long Live The VMK!

Irish, I think we all can agree now that this post just proves it... you are the perfect woman. Brains, looks, and that sweet backwards green hat. :lovestruc

You're on to something here both with how great VMK is and how ill-humored many of the players can be.

Still, bashing VMK has become a kind of great virtual pastime. We love to hate the annoyances. Part of the bond players share derives from these common irritations. We all feel each other's pain and that helps to bind us.

And so we gripe. But much of the griping is like what we might say about our favorite television villian. "Oh, I hate that Omarosa! What time is this show on next week??"

Your post should be required reading. Thank you for identifying the awful practice of taking too much pleasure or using too little context in complaining.

Ricks :thumbsup2

Hey I want to say thanks for your post too... well said.

As for this event- I didn't have much to complain about. I noticed that staff did move blocks from doorways when they noticed people may get caught in teleporters on Friday and Early Saturday- and on Sunday even noticed a few things repositioned to make entry and moving around easier.

I was very happy to see three rooms- and really the wait for the rooms got shorter and shorter from almost 100 as a high for the busiest room to I think 10 was my shortest wait.

And they didn't even question people getting bumped to the door at the finish and I don't doubt that a few announced they got bumped to doorway when they didn't lol

I think the only problem with the maze was a few players who refused to quit even when they were stuck (not those who got dc'd and hung around unknowingly) but those who were stuck and knew it and wouldn't leave- but staff has little control over that.

When I noticed someone blocking a teleporter or pathway either because they were dc'd or because they were stubborn- I'd report to staff and they'd show up and boot the person out of the way and we'd continue on our way. I think the longest we waited for staff to come help was 3 minutes but you know it really felt a lot longer lol

I know a lot of these things are what we make of them... if you go in with the attitude the first time you get dc'd that "oh yet another great event" then you aren't going to have fun. I went in expecting that with the extra load going through because of the event I would get dc'd quicker- (and I think I averaged 30-45 minutes on and no longer) and when I did I just logged back on tried again. Making sure that when I tried again I went into the shortest line even though I wanted to see all the mazes- some just tended to block easier than others - but I think that was diffrent for others- I found the purple the easiest to get through and someone else posted it as being the hardest... I enjoyed the gold the most but found it got backed up and was usually with the longest line when I'd try again. And the pink had some back up problems in a few rooms but once they cleared the doorways and you could enter from the doorway it wasn't so bad.

But I do have to say this event was a good one, many were able to get on and get their doors, the waits weren't terribly long at all, and for the most part staff was pleasent when we met them in final room- only one was a little harsh and it wasn't to me- and I wonder if it was just how it read or if this person was just putting in too much time at the same thing (can't be much fun to do hours and hours of name checking)

I did find too that when some CL's hung around in a few of the more confusing rooms and in start rooms that things went smoother- but there were still people who didn't listen, who rushed through, who were ugly to other players, who blocked people on purpose, who would skip portions of the maze and cause back ups... but those were a few individuals and well- I always think that Karma will one day work on them and let it go.

And for each of the ugly, stubborn players- I also some that were very helpful, those who when stuck because couldn't see doorway quickly got out of the way and asked for help, and those who would stop their own progress and help those who were unsure find their way out of the maze. And although people would remind others to slow down going into doors and go quick coming out- I saw many who were doing so very pleasently. And even when someone was dc and not responding - once it was pointed out - that the person was dc and we are waiting for staff- the others coming in would usually go "ok np" and in one room that had big log jam lol started singing its a small world lol...

Anyway- thanks again Irish for reminding everyone to look on lighter side- and to check our attitudes. A friendly reminder is always appreciated

With Monster Month ending on the stressfull Doorway to fortunes and Everest month beginning I think this post needs a bump to the top! Well put Irish!
