Or not so skinny if they are used right!

I am now a full fledged member of the Hotwire savings club and loving it so far! Who doesn't want to save 20% at popular stores! It is great!

My next trip is not until oct. 2004. I do know it's early but I am a planner and I really want to know how I can maximize these VKL and Q&C vouchers.

I am a little wary of the VKL especially. They seem $$$ for a lunch. Is it a waste to buy a child's voucher? I have read some posts here with good experiences but could you please tell me how you do it and where I should go?

The Q&C's seem a little easier but I still would love to know where you all got your BEST deals and where is it a waste? How do I handle my child's meal? Do they share off of yours?

How about the character breakfast vouchers????

Any help with this is much appreciated! Thanks All!:wave2:

Um...I hope you haven't bought any yet. The Q&C vouchers expire 5/31/04.

I haven't...I know that this batch expires in May. I am waiting to buy.....;)

My best advice is to read the post at the top of this board. I beleive people have thought the best deals for the Q&C vouchers are at Beaches and Cream and Pepper Market. I bought the adult Breakfast vouchers for our character Breakfast for a savings of a few bucks. (they all add up) Remember that the vouchers include tax and tip!! We did buy the VKL vouchers for the RFC at AK. I have read but can't confirm (depends on your server??) that the children can order off the adult menu at the RFC, that really makes those kids lunch vouchers a value!! We plan to share all of our vouchers!!Hope this helps

Definately read the thread on top of the Budget board.

Our best values have been at Beaches and Cream, Pepper Market, and the Sand Trap Bar and Grill.

We also save quite a bit by "Dining Around World Showcase." On this plan, my husband and I always split meals, intending to eat at 3 or 4 countries. In the past 4 visits, we have never gotten past 2 meals (for a total dining expense of $22.50 for 2 for the day)!

If you are a big salad eater (as I am)-- consider using a Q and C to get a salad, side, dessert and drink. Your companion can then just order a sandwich and eat your side. If you don't mind splitting the dessert and drink, you will wind up with a meal for 2 for around $15 or $16.

If a pastry is a dessert option (like at Pepper Market or many Epcot restaurants), consider bringing the pastry back to your room for breakfast the next day, if you are full from the meal. I got such a gigantic chocolate croissant at the Pepper Market that it wound up being two breakfasts. My husband's cheese danish was equally large and lasted the same two breakfasts (it was very nice to have a toaster oven in the room to heat these up).

Know your break-even point and don't use the voucher if it is not a good value. for example, for a theme park counter service, we figure 6.5% tax, no tip, a $2 drink, and $1.50 dessert (most are actually more expensive than this), so for us, the Q and C vocuher is a good deal if the entree and side come to $7.20 or more. Sit down a do a bit of math before you go.

If you have a PDA, consider dowloading the menus for the restaurants at which you can use the Q and C voucher. This will help you to be able to decide on the fly where you want to eat.

Enjoy!
