I am taking my 6 yo son for our big trip. I took my other son to DW when he was 6, so now Sean KNOWS it is his turn. Special mommy/son time. He is SO into animals, especially marine life, so my instant thought was to go to SeaWorld. Then I added in Discovery Cove- he's a good swimmer and would probably love that whole thing. I was about to book thru SeaWorld's site and when I came on Promotional code it led me to this site.

Then as my wheels were spinning, I thought maybe we WOULD do one day at Magic Kingdom and spend the whole trip at Animal Kingdom lodge. Pricier, Im sure, but..... We only have Thur to Monday of Columbus Day weekend, including travel time to Boston.

My questions are: Is Sea World and Discovery Cove enough? (sounds like a crazy question) or by tossing in Magic Kingdom would you think it would be all too hectic? My son will NOT do well in the long lines, which was one of the reasons I was dodging Magic Kingdom. ANY help, please.....I've been going to Disney World my whole life, but have never done Sea World OR Discovery Cove. Where should I go for the best prices? I think if I don't go to Animal Kingdom, I will stay at the Marriott World Resort.......... aaagghhh.. I forgot how overwhelming this trip planning is. :rotfl2:

You know your son best. My girls loved DC, Sea World so-so. We are doing DC, Sea World, Universal again this year, but go to Disney every other year as well. Is this a once in a lifetime thing, or do you think you will get back to Disney soon? Personally, I think swimming with the dolphins and spending the day at DC would make for a great mommy/son memory, and you need less time than for this than a Disney vacation, making it fit your time frame better.

We stayed at Marriott World resort the one year we went to DC (my daughter and I have gone twice, my DD, DH, and DSD the next time) and I wouldn't stay there again. It was crowded, very business-like, pool was cold, we hated it (but went from the HRH to MWR, so that could have something to do with it). This time I'm looking at the JW Marriott which seems better, or the Renaissance just due to how close it is to SW, DC, Aquatica (we stayed there a different year and it is okay, but can't beat the location.)

We just went with DS4 & DD5 over Feb school vacation week and did 2 days at SW, 2 days at Universal & one day at MK. MK was their least favorite day, way too crowded. They absolutely loved SW. Also, they've been to Disney twice before but had never been to SW or Universal. Honestly, I wish we had skipped the MK day. Aquatica wasn't open yet but it looked awesome, what about adding in a day there as well? We stayed at the Marriott Horizons, its a timeshare but we booked through Expedia. It was great. They had awesome pools for the kids, my kids could have spent the whole week at the hotel.

My DD is 6 and LOVES SW. They have a Shamu rollercoaster (that she can ride by herself:cool1: ). You can feed the Dolphins, the Rays, Sharks and the Sea Lions. The Sea Lion night time show is very funny! You can do a behind the scenes tour and pet a peguin.

I think you mentioned you would be traveling in October? In October Seaworld also has special Halloween Trick or treats on the weekends (included in the ticket price). There are lots of walk around characters to interact with and candy (also a few healthy snacks:yay: )
