I need to know how the packages work. Is it like Disney where you pay a down payment and then 45 days before arrival the rest is due? Or is it some other way. I really need to know this before I book. TIA! I really think that Universal is the way we are going this Christmas Excited to try something different!

The packages require immediate payment. If you book hotel directly with Loews, you pay for the first night and the rest is paid at check in.

So the entire package is due all at once? That is crazy! I was going to book, but now will have to wait and hope that I can save and book ASAP! Thanks for your info

i never book a package as in the long run, they usually are more expensive than booking everything separately.

booking room only has limited restrictions, such as, canceling 6 days out from arrival with no penalty.

if you book room only, you pay a one night stay at time of booking.
the rest is paid when you check out of the hotel.

for staying on site, it is the easiest way to go.

i did a package many many years ago as it was a better deal financially.
since then, i have not found packages to help you come out ahead money wise.

book the onsite room.
buy the tickets from UT.

if the breakfast at the 3 B's was in the package, which would have been breakfast, you can still eat there but with cash.

if you have a package, you have a charge of $50 each time you make a change.
you also have only 45 days out if you need to cancel, without penalty.

for room only, you can cancel 6 days out and receive a full refund.
that is the only rule you have to deal with when booking room only.

you pay one night stay up front when you book, you pay the rest of the room charges when you check out.

if you booked standard garden view and want to upgrade it before you arrive, you can do so without any penalty charges.
