Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but...
My question My DD wants to go to disney with her gir friends this summer they are all 18 years old. Can they get a room at disney without a credit card and are thery allowed alone at 18??? If anyone has any info please let ,e know.
Thanks inadvance:rotfl:

ddc123,

I think they can. We have a multi-room stay at GF in January. My 18-year-old and 13-year-old sons are staying in their own room--the 4 of us are just too crowded in one. Reservation agent told me that an 18-year-old can have his or her own room, and that 18 is the minimum age. The room is totally in my son's name--his stay does not require my being there. Disney sent both the e-mail and the letter notification to him. He does not have a credit card, nor did they insist that he have one when I made the reservation and put down the deposit.

For the girls (BTW, sounds like fun for them!!!), I think they will be able to get a room on their own. When they make their reservation, I suggest they ask about forms of payment for the room.

I hope they have a great time!

Well this was about 12 years ago, but my husband and I were both 19 when we got married and we stayed at Disney for our honeymoon. We did not use a credit card, they sent us the bill for the deposit and I sent in a check for it, then we paid the remainder by check when we arrived. There was no problem with getting the room in our name as long as we were 18 or over. Also if their room has a mini bar they will empty it out. When we got to our room there was an attendant there with a bag taking all of the alcohol. I hope they have a great time.

If the room is paid for before you arrive, you wouldn't have to leave a credit card if you didn't want charging privileges and could spend cash out of pocket.

Yes, they can get a room but they will need to submit a check for the deposit and pay the balance upon arrival. They will not be able to charge things to the room key.

you can pay the deposit in advance and then pay with cash or check on arrival for the length of your stay..
that is, they'll have to pay the balance of the room when they arrive (so they'll either need a check or the full amount in cash)..

if they pay by cash (or check for that matter), tell them to make sure they receive a receipt on the spot that says they've paid the full amount already..
and tell them to hold onto that receipt for when they check out.
they will need it in case there's a mistake.

there is no problem with their age.

with no credit card, as another poster said, they will not be able to charge purchases to their room key.

(my kids have had credit cards since they were 18 to simplify all of the above).
