Hi everyone

I'm interested in finding a nice, clean hotel within 5 miles of WDW for my friend. Her husband recently passed away and she may have to cancel her trip if she can't find accomodations for about $50.00 per night. She has 2 small children.

If anyone has any info (good or bad) on any of the budget hotels in the area, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Hi there: the Magic Castle Inns and Suites are only about $30.00 per night and they are on the 1-90 Irlo Bronson Hwy not too far from Disney. The one we stayed at was right across from the Super Wal-mart and even serves a really nice continental breakfast which has do-nuts,bagles,fruit cereal etc. which can save a lot of money when you have kids too!The rooms are nice and clean and the staff very helpful. They do not have a pool that is heated though........just a regular one but the weather is now alot warmer there than it was when we went down in Nov/Dec of last year. They have a web site too that you can go take a look at for yourself.......www.magicorlando.com.Hope this helps! Hope they get to go and have a really great time.....sounds like they need a holiday :)

Try either the Holiday Inn Maingate East or Sheraton Four Points Lakeside, both of which are stand-out properties in this price range and can also be found on the Orlando Discount Hotels link at the top of the page. The HIME is one of my favourite recommendations for families, too.

She might also check on the Sleep Inn Maingate which is at 8536 W. Irlo Bronson. It is very clean, has a microwave and refrigerator and continental breakfast. The pool is small though. There is a coupon on www.roomsavers.com which is about $35.00 a night.

Depending on her dates, she might be able to get an Allstars room for that $49 rate. Codes for the rate are posted in the link on the disney resorts board.

to be very nice, clean, and comfortable last year. They have a covered pool and a good-sized playground that kids there seemed to enjoy a lot. Our price was $52 a night but for some of the dates this summer they have special rates that are actually a little lower. Our ride to the Disney parks was 10min flat as they are only 4 miles from the maingate. Hope this helps.

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend's loss! I sure hope that they will be
able to take their trip, sounds as they've been through a lot.

Anyways, have they considered using Priceline? We were able to stay at the Hyatt
Orlando for $35 a night. Granted, it was January, but if you do your research, you
should be able to hit something for under $50.00.

Otherwise, have her check out some privately-owned condos. The extra money
they spend they will more than likely make up in being able to eat meals in as well
as the extra space and peace and quiet!

I would STRONGLY suggest she stay away from the Howard Johnson Express Inn &
Suites on 192, located on Cecile Lake. We stayed there several years ago and it
was a DIVE!!

Wishing them success and a magical trip!
