Hi there,

I am getting married at the Swan/Dolphin resort next December!:cool1: I'm currently working on our wedding website and trying to write out walking directions from the BC/YC and BWI to the S/D resort.

I tried to get directions from Google Maps but they did not have walking directions.

Does anyone know if there are any websites out there that either:
-Provide walking directions to/from different areas of WDW
-Have maps of the Boardwalk area

OR can any of you describe walking directions from the YC/BC & from BWI to the Swan/Dolphin? If you are familiar with the S/D, we are getting married at Crescent Terrace, which is right across from Il Mulino Restaurant.

Any info would be much appreciated-thank you!!:goodvibes

Does it have to be walking? Why not just take the boats? They all are connected via the Epcot IG boat. Also the walking paths are pretty clear. I can't imagine being confused on how to get there.

here is one of Robo's maps of the Boardwalk area, you can see his collection at www.stitchkingdom.com

Thanks!!:goodvibes How often do the boats run? We are getting married one week before Christmas. That is the only thing I'm concerned about. and roughly how long does it take to get from the YC/BC and BWI to the S/D by boat? 15-20 minutes?

I would imagine the directions would be something like this:

1. Use rear exit of resort.
2. Look up for giant duck or fish.
3. Walk towards giant duck or fish.

:rotfl:

But seriously,
something like exit rear, head left around lake and follow signs or ask castmember should be sufficient.

I am sure there are various places that have walking directions. I assume your guests are staying at the Yacht/Beach or Boardwalk. They will be given a map when they check in of cresant lake and can use that to help them but here are some basics.

From Beach/Yacht- follow the signs for walking towards MGM/Swan/Dolpin/Boardwalk- you will be walking away from Epcot. Follow the path until you reach the place where it splits- you don't want to go under the Boardwalk sign- instead turn and go over the bridge. At the end of the bridge you will turn into the building and be at the Swan. If you reach a boat dock the Swan should be right behind you (you passed it).

From the boardwalk: Walk down the path towards Jellyrolls- when you get to the Boardwalk sign walk over the bridge(going under the archway) and you will find the Swan at the end of the bridge.

Yes, you can see the resorts when walking so very simple directions, such as which direction to turn when outside, should be sufficient.

The boats will get people there if there are people who have any difficulty walking, but for most people it will be simpler and quicker just to walk.

On the boats it will take about 5 minutes from Boardwalk and 10 minutes from Yacht/Beach once the boat arrives.

the rides themselves only take a few minutes I'd say under 10, but the boats run about every 15-20 minutes for something as important as making a wedding on time I would leave an hour ahead to account for any problems at all.

Thank you-you guys are great!!! :goodvibes

Most of our guests are staying at the S/D, BWI, & YC/BC. We have a few guests who will be traveling from ASMu & Pop and we are recommending that they take a taxi to the wedding, since bus transport may not be ideal in formal clothing and during such a busy time of year.

When you walk from the BC/YC and BWI, which entrance of the Swan do you arrive at? & do you reach the Swan building first or the Dolphin building? Anyone know how to get to Il Mulino from the Swan entrance that they will arrive to?

You arrive "between" the Swan and Dolphin on the walkway that runs from one to the other.

You'd enter the Swan via the "rear" door (the door that faces the Dolphin.)

An hour? It's a 10 or so minute stroll - if a boat is not there, it would be very easy to walk.

This is pretty much it. The Swan and Dolphin are the most obvious resorts in that area. Not sure you really need walking directions from Boardwalk at all unless you want to specify that they should walk along the Boardwalk area (back of the resort) near the lake. From YC/BC you may want to indicate that there is a winding path between the Yacht Club and the Dolphin and your guests may prefer to cross the bridge toward the Swan and walk back to the Dolphin rather than negotiate the winding path.

On the boats it will take about 5 minutes from Boardwalk and 10 minutes from Yacht/Beach once the boat arrives.

I think these times are underestimations based on an attempt to get from the YC to the Dolphin by boat in October.

I do NOT suggest taking the boat unless you have guests with mobility issues and those who use them should be warned to allow extra time. It'd be a 10 minute walk but a possible 20 minute boat ride, depending on which resort, plus possible time spent waiting for the boat to arrive.

Anyone know how to get to Il Mulino from the Swan entrance that they will arrive to?

Walk in through the door. Turn LEFT (sorry I said right before - Kimonos is on the right)

You would be ok with people who are attending your wedding counting on a 10 minute stroll with no issues? My parents lived less than a quarter of a mile from the church we got married in a 2 minute drive including time to get in and out of the car and I requested they be there an hour early minimum. It's her wedding not a movie or an ADR.

Really? I lived 5 minutes from our church, and left my house about 15 minutes before my wedding. I can't imagine showing up an hour early for a wedding, even if it's yours, and I wouldn't want my guests to sit there for that long.

Hi Minniebride! How are you?! Just wanted to chime in and say our wedding was amazing @ the S&D!!! You are going to have a magical time next December!! Did you decide to have your reception at Il Mulino too? :lovestruc

Here is a map of the resort. As you will see 'P' is the Crescent Terrace, then you make a right at the Boardwalk sign & you're on your way to the Boardwalk or you can jump on the boat, 'WT'

Good luck with the rest of your wedding plans!!
