Our family (DW, Me, DSons 8 & 6) are visiting SC March 29-April 7. The first part of our trip will be in San Diego. We'd like to spend one day at the zoo, 2 days at SW, and one day at Legoland (Saturday-Tuesday). What would be the most economical ticket options and where should I look to purchase them? Thanks.

I would look at the Go Card. Even if you only stay with the three parks you have mentioned, this will save you about $20 per person. The benefit, is that if you find yourself with free time and you want to see some other things in S.D. it most likely will cover it.

The down side is that there is no 4 day pass, so you would need to look at the 5 day.
I noticed that Costco.com has an even better deal on the 3-day San Diego Go Card.

Have you visited the San Diego SW before? IMO it isn't worth setting aside 2 days for that park. We went a little over a year ago -- first time in about 10 years -- and DH and I were both disappointed. It isn't as big/nice as the one in Florida. The 4D film was lame and so not worth the hour long wait in line. My kids (then ages 4 and 7) love animals and they thought the shows were interesting but they were sad to see the small enclosures (since they love sea creatures and know a lot about how great a distance sea creatures swim in the wild). We have no plans to return. We love San Diego and visit almost every year; the zoo and wild animal (safari) park remain high on our list (though we prefer the safari park more because of the larger enclosures for the animals). San Diego's science museum is a really terrific one for kids (and adults), too.

You wont need 2 days at SW. Its easily a 1 day park, there really isnt that much to do there once you have seen the shows.

The Go Card is great, we did that when we went last month for the zoo, a museum and a harbor cruise (We are members for SW). AAA has good prices for the zoo too.

We do a minimum of 2 days at Sea World, but we like to split the shows up or the kids get too antsy. We go to the dolphins for 2 shows a day-at the cove-because the kids get to pet/feed the dolphins if you plan it right. The trainers do a trainer type show 2-3 times a day.

We got a great deal on the 3-day San Diego Go Card through Costco. How do you get tickets from that card? We are going to SW, Legoland and SD Zoo. I believe someone mentioned that at Legoland, you have to go up to a ticket booth and then they give you a ticket? Is that the case for SW and SD Zoo as well? I want to make sure I plan enough time if we need to line up for tickets first before lining up to get in.

Thank you!

Not sure for SW but for the zoo you go through a ticket kiosk like you would to buy a ticket. They will scan your go card and give you a physical ticket.
