I'm trying to decide where to stay. Only two adults going so we only need one room. We want to book offsite since we are renting a car to go around. But I'm looking for something budget-friendly with breakfast included. I have read the best-worst thread and I'm more confused than ever! :confused3 . some of them I checked and seem nice but then someone had something bad to say about it. Please, can someone bring light into this darkness?!! :sad2:

I am going to move this to the Orlando Hotels Board. W/ 2 adults I think I'd go w/ Priceline. However, you'd have to do some research first. Many of the DTD hotels are listed at resort level along w/ Gaylord Palms (can't go wrong there). There are also a lot of great hotels at the 3* level.

Check the Orlando Magiccard site and the FloridaKiss site for discounts. Last year I got the Fairfield for $55--great place, has a refrigerator, WiFi, free breakfast, free parking, etc. for $55 with Magiccard. Now with AAA discount it is $67. Check the tripadvisor.com site too but take the reviews with a grain of salt.

I have yet to stay at a bad Red Roof Inn but never stayed at one in Orlando.

I agree with the Priceline suggestion. Bid $35/night for a 2.5* hotel in the DWV. If the bid is accepted, you'll be booked within the Amerisuites Lake Buena Vista. At that price, the Amerisuites is an excellent value -- oversized room with kitchen, free breakfast & a resort-type pool.

There are plenty of off-site lodging that provide a superior value to Disney. Keep in mind that many of these properties lack a resort atmosphere, and virtually none have a Disney ambience. These factors often lead to negative reviews.

My DBF and I are also staying off-site when we travel to Orlando in September, for the same reason -- we rented a car and are going to be seeing places other then Disney. I was having a tough time deciding where we should stay and I finally got it narrowed down to Comfort Suites Maingate East and Comfort Suites Maingate. They both have pretty good reviews. I finally booked with Comfort Suites Maingate, it is about $80 total cheaper for our 6 night stay and because there's a shortcut road from Maingate to Disney via Sherberth Road, I figured we'd just go with that and maybe avoid some traffic in our drive!! :cool1:

Check out the Hawnthron Suites on Canada Avenue or Dr? they have a free hot breakfeast every morning. It was nice and clean.

We stayed at the Amerisuites on I-drive near the convention center in March. It was very quiet and nice. Free hot breakfast, make your own waffles, etc...
We got it on Priceline for $40/night.
