I want to go to Disneyworld during the "Hopefully" free dining. I want to get the most for my moeny. Can anyone help with pricing? It will just be DH and I. We can go anytime. During the start of free dining would be good. We are pretty flexable. We want to stay at a value resort. We would like to go for a ten day package with no park hopping. We went last Sept/Oct but missed free dining.
Please someone help. We don't need the waterparks.

TIA

Welll the beauty of this promotion.. is that since the MYW room & tickets package is rack rate.. you can price it all out at WDW's website.

Just price out a room & tickets package. (Don't include dining cause you'll get that free). You're paying rack rate for everything else.

So.. price out your first choice for dates & resort and your second choice and whatever as many times as you like! The tentative dates for Free Dining are 8/26 to 9/22. That's not yet confirmed by anything official.. just a rumor... but try to keep your check-IN date within that date range.

Good luck!

You don't need to buy a 10 myw pass if you don't plan on going in to the parks that much, but you have to buy at least a 1 day pass and you don't need the non-exp. if you plan on using it up while you are there.

You might want to consider getting the park hopper passes. Especially, if you want to get the dining plan. Because if you want to use your table service credits at more than one of the many restaurants at Epcot you want have to pay to get in just to have dinner. If you have the park hopper you can go to Epcot for dinner 2 nights in a row if you wanted to.

I hope that this makes sense.

I you can go anytime during the promo (if there is one) I'd pick time near the end of it. Since most kids go back to school no later than the week after labor day, mid September should be less crowded than late August.

Very new here. If we are staying for 6 nights and the sixth night falls on the start of the "holiday" rate, do we pay the holiday rate for that night or have we locked in our price under the previous 5 days?.

Not quite sure how that would work? Very interesting question though. Let me know the answer when you find out.

If you check in then the price and deal is good through check out as long as it is in the time frame. Last year was 10 days max. You would not be charged different for the last day.

Thank you! I think my head is going to explode between choices, options, decisions, and information.

You would pay the rate that you booked at the start of your stay. If you want to get the discount for the 6th day, then you would have to book a separate reservation with tickets and you would have to make 2 deposits. However, the free dining required a 3-night minimum stay in the past, so that wouldn't work for you unless you stay 2 additional nights, for a total stay of 8 nights between the 2 reservations.

Sorry I misunderstood your question. I thought you meant the 6th day as the start of the discount rate.

Your rate will stay the same throughout your stay as when it started.

I know the feeling. I am planning our first trip to the world in Sept. There is so much info it's alittle overwhelming.

i just emailed this to my family to help them make some decisions for our family's grand gathering in late august... it's only 5 nights, but if you double the amounts listed here, you should get an idea... if you have any add'l questions, feel free to ask or even pm me :)

For comparison sake... Here are the rates at various resorts for 2 Adults, 5 Nights, 6 Day Park Hopper Tickets (no water parks), Free Dining Plan if offered (1 Table Service Meal, 1 Counter Service Meal, 1 Snack per person per night), Standard Room w/Two Beds (plus most Deluxe Resorts offer a daybed for as well):

@ Pop Century (Value Resort) = $991.72
(same price point as Twin Lake Village)

@ Port Orleans Riverside (Moderate Resort) = $1344.12

@ Wilderness Lodge (Deluxe Resort Lite) = $1737.82

@ Polynesian (Monorail Deluxe Resort) = $2379.12

@ Yacht Club (Epcot Deluxe Resort) = $2300.32
(Dave's Choice; Best pool on property!)

@ Fort Wilderness Campground Cabin = $1929.12
Cabin has full kitchen, two double beds and one set of bunk beds; holds up to 6 people; for 6 adults in one cabin = $3098.46)

These prices do not reflect any sort of discount (i.e. Florida resident); additional people can be added to rooms at additional cost (for tickets). Kids 10+ are charged as adults for tickets; children under 10 are cheaper! Number of days on tickets can be changed, but in order to qualify for Free Dining, at least a one day base ticket needs to be purchased for each person.

I had less stress planning a trip to Australia .....

I think we have decided to either suck it up and stay at the poly the first week in march with three kids (9,7, and4) or go for two weeks in June off site, and relaxing more. Am I crazy?

how 'bout considering a moderate on-site resort for ten days and having a bit of the best of both worlds :)

My research has shown the only moderate that can accomadte 5 is POR..correct. That would be a tight fit for 10 days.(?) I am not sure if we want to go-go-go all the time, but might feel that need staying on site and paying the premium $$$$. I like a good day at a pool.

We would suck it up ($$$$) just to have the luxary of the monorail for coming and going....or am I still nuts?

That is exactly why we are staying at the Poly in Sept. Basically just to have the monorail convience. Seeing how we have to a 4 and 1. We firgure it would make things alot easier for us going back and forth to the hotel and parks. So maybe I'm nuts. LOL!

All I can say is we have been able to travel to Disney a lot! We are a family of eight. We have stayed in several resorts and my head still spins everytime I plan a trip. We are thinking about returning in September. I have already started the disney panic. Where to stay where to eat, did I pick the right stuff. I guess it is who I am.

The last time we went we stayed in PORFQ. Very nice, bus service great. Room was not cleaned and we had problems with that. We had to move by day 3. Another story. We would like to stay there again but I am thinking about saving cash and staying in allstars or pop. We were moved to the contemporary. I am gald I did not pay for this resort as it was not good for my family. Do not plan to ever stay there again.

See...you are not alone. It is just a lot to think about and of course you want it to be right. Good luck! I will say reading info here on the Dis helps a lot.

we've stayed at pop and loved it... always take two rooms (for our family of four) and imo it's worth the $ to have the space... and it's a nice resort and we never feel the need to run-run-run...

another option for a good cross between disney commando and relaxed vacation is the cabins at fort wilderness... they comfortably sleep six... have a full kitchen... two tvs... a bbq grill... lots of activities, some of which are free... yet great quick easy access to WDW theme parks :)

I considered Value ones, my kids (9,7,4) would love it..get two rooms and still it would be pretty cheap for 5. However, I looked at the site and I am not sure I can wake up to all that color every morning...it's MY vacation too. I think that is why the Poly looks so appealing to me. So I have figured out we can do a whirlwind Dis tour at the poly for 6 days or two weeks off site relaxing and feeling no pressure to do "everything" in five days.

But I am a Dis-virgin and probably not thinking....????
