I had a smooth sign-up process and volunteer experience. Now I'm just waiting on my voucher. However, my mom is having HUGE problems getting signed-up. :headache: Here's what's happening...hopefully someone can help.

She went to the Search/Sign-up Page, chose her activity and filled out her info. After about 4 days, she went ahead and called the organization contact person and they worked out the details of her job.

After setting the date, she went to the website and tried to fill out the official sign up section. She got through everything up to the part where you type the Security Letters/Numbers that you see, but when she clicked Continue, her screen shut down.

Unfortunately, she now seems to be frozen out of the system. She tried to go back and re-do it, but when she enters her e-mail, she gets the message saying something like "Sorry, there appears to be another user with your e-mail."

For a few days after that, under Manage My Account, she got the message saying "Pending Confirmation", so she waited a bit. However, now in her Volunteer Activity Portal under Activities That You and Your Family Are Signed Up For... her says (0) and under Verifying Organization it says (None).

Finally, she tried to start all over, but the system won't let her register her e-mail b/c it keeps saying it is in use by another user!!!! Her volunteer organization says that they have no idea what to do. They said it is a Disney problem and that the system has been giving lots of people trouble.

Any suggestions? :worship: I hate that she is having such a hard time. She just wants to throw in the towel and buy her ticket. By the way, she already honored her volunteer date because it came up during all of this mess.

Sorry this is sooo long!

I hope you get an answer! I am also experiencing problems registering. I can't go past the edit/continue screen.

Good luck to your mom! Maybe there is just a glitch in the system.

What about if you have her create a new email address maybe with gmail. Once she has a new email address to go back and try creating a new account with Disney and to see what happens? It's just a thought. Also, I thought there was a phone number you can call with Disney for GAD problems.

Good luck.

Keep us posted.

Have her sign in again to "manage account" from the Disney page. Then select the "Go to Hands On Network" link in the box at the upper right of the frame. This takes you to the home page in the Volunteer Opportunity Portal (the first page you reach after entering the Hands On Network). There should be a list of links. The first one is "view/edit the opportunity(s) I have signed up for" but she should click on the second one instead, which is "search for a new opportunity." Then look for the organization/opportunity again, and click on its sign-up link. This should work without giving her trouble about her email address because she's already signed in on her account. She will then need to pick a date in the future (such as tomorrow or the next day) since the system will not allow sign-up for a date in the past. If she then tells the organization what she's done and to verify her when she shows up on their schedule, I believe that will work. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure that she said that she tried that, but I will double check for her. I'll let you know what happens. Does anyone have a contact phone number for GAD problems?]

When are you going?
Can your Mom sign up all over again, using a different e-mail address? It's easy enough for her to create a new e-mail addresss and use it when signing up....

I appreciate all the advice. I don't think that she will go to the trouble of setting up another e-mail. She is barely computer literate and this process has really stressed her out.

Thank you for the Guest Call Center #...I'm actually going to call today b/c now I have a problem. I got the e-mail today to print my voucher and what do you think happened when I hit "Print"? You guessed it...NOTHING!!! :rotfl2::headache:

I went ahead and printed the lead up pages that stated that my voucher was ready to print at least. I guess that I'll search for other Threads for this situation...surely there's one started already.
