Please help with my points Calculation

You know, I'm not new to DVC but I'm having trouble calculating the points for our next trip... I thought I knew what the point requirement was, but then I just redid it & came up with another number (several times)... I'd feel better if some generous person would take a few minutes to double check what I came up with.

We want to travel December 30th, 2003 - January8th, 2004 & I want to stay at the BWV's in a standard view 1 bedroom (I know I'll have to start calling at 8:59 starting January 30th) Anyways, I came up with a total of 226 points - this seems so low, all my prior calculations had put it at 301 points

Again, BWV's Standard 1 bed.

I'm calculating it as 12/30 & 31 @ 32 points each (64 points)
Thursday 1/1 @ 16 points
1/2 & 1/3 @ 41 points each night (82 points)
1/4-1/7 @ 16 points (48 points)

For a Grand total of 210 points, if someone could check the point charts & stuff, I would SO appreciate it, I've been looking at this stuff TOO long!!

I got 226 points. You might want to try Caskbill's DVC Planner program it works great!

Chris- if you are staying until Jan 8 then your last calculation is wrong it would be 16 x 4 nights = 64 points for Jan 4, 5, 6, 7, This brings the total to 226 as you previously stated, not 210

Its a great program that very quickly figures out your point usage for any DVC resort. There are instructions on the site. Let me know if you need any help.

THANKS!! Terry & Kem330, I swear I was going blind looking at it! We're planning a bit of an impromptu Hawaii trip in February, so I'm using as many points as I can for Hawaii while trying to keep enough for next New Years!!

I downloaded Caskbill's program & it does work great! So Kudo's to Caskbill!!

Thanks Kem! We went for the first time last February to Maui... Now I think we'll try both Kauai & Maui again... Unforseen circumstance is allowing us to go again So, let the planning begin!!

Actually, for calling day by day the first day you can call is Friday, January 31st to make your December 30, 2003 reservation. You make the reservation 11-months prior to the check-OUT date, not Check-IN date, so the theoretical check-out date would be Dec 31st.

Then the next day you can call is Monday, Feb 3rd. At that time you would reserve the December 31, Jan 1st and Jan 2nd dates. Then you can call day by day if you wish to add each additional date.

The last date you reserve will be for Jan 7th, 2004. Your 11-month booking window for that date is Monday Feb 10, 2002.

The DVC Planner program automatically adjusts for weekends and holidays when it calculates your booking windows.

Thanks Caskbill!! I always forget if it's 11 months from check-in or check-out... I usually just wing it & call both days just in case LOL... I'm marking it on my calendar as I type!! I hate being under such pressure to get those first two nights however!
