Trying to get my FP+ in order & I'm having trouble. What do you parents of young children choose? We will have DD8 & DS4. DS is just under 40" at the moment. :( I want to try & get A&E & 7DMT but other than that, I'm not sure. Maybe Peter Pan? I'd like to do Splash & BTMR, but DS probably won't be able to ride. So do we split up? Or just try to do stand by for those & get FP+ for things we can all ride? Help! Lol. What do y'all do?

Also, our first MK day is the last scheduled day for HM. Do you think we will need FP+ for that, or should we be able to ride it on stand by? Wasn't sure how the refurb might affect lines that last day! Thanks for your help!

For BTMR and SM I think you can use the Rider Switch (used to be called Child Swap). One parent (and DD) rides while the other watches DS and waits in the Rider Switch area, when the first parent gets off the ride the other parent can ride without having to wait in standby. Maybe once the second parent goes on the ride, the first parent and DS could head over to the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade, so he doesn't get too bored. I think you could still use FP if you want, to get the first rider on quicker,

I would recommend a FP+ for Peter Pan vs Splash Mountain or BTMR in almost any situation. IT normally has longer wait times (the only exception would be on hot days in the afternoon Splash Mountain). Keep in mind for like HM, Splash and BTMR, you can likely get a 4th, 5th or 6th FP+ for them if your first 3 are not too late in the day.
Another option is during the first couple of hours in the morning the wait times are generally not too bad.
The other thing is depending on when you are going, there is a decent chance your child could grow that extra inch or so and will be 40 inches.

I used the suggested FP priorities (per Mesaboy,s thread on this forum) and just picked the stuff that ANY of our party wanted if it was listed as high priority for FP use (meaning it often has long lines, therefore FP really saves you). I put a little more emphasis on Peter Pan and Enchanted Tales with Belle and 7dwarves because we can all ride, but they're also high priority FP choices. I also still chose Space and Big Thunder., though - I figured even if we won't/can't all ride it, at least the people waiting are only waiting a brief time while bigger guys get in a ride, then we all go together for something family-friendly with only a moderate or short wait.

I haven't yet gone back to see if there are "kiddie" rides near a headliner that I'd switch some people to, so they have a FP to ride at the same time as the thrill riders, but I'm a little afraid to get too fancy with it, at risk of somehow screwing up the FPs I've already picked.

We're similar with our kids being DS9 and DD5. It looks like you're just asking about Magic Kingdom? For us, when we can I have us all riding together on things like Peter Pan, It's a Small World, Dumbo, Barnstormer, Winnie the Pooh, 7DMT, Mickey's PhilarMagic, Pirates, Jungle Cruise...and then there are times that I have us split up either because of age or interest, such as Splash Moutain for older one, Enchanted Tales for DD, etc. And when we spit up, I try and make the FPs the same so we can easily meet up again.

Definitely Peter Pan, and Enchanted Tales With Belle. Just got back. Also consider a FP+ for Wishes--you get to stretch out in the Rose Garden, and although it's not the premium view--there are some trees you can try to avoid--it's relaxing and beautiful!! After the parade crowds, we were sooo pleased to just go and sprawl out on that beautiful lawn!

Also, hit the "kiddie" rides in Fantasyland first, like Dumbo et al, and there will be no lines. We hit Pooh first. Key is to get to the slower loaders first. Now there's Dumbo 2, which makes things lots easier! Like other people suggested, Jungle Cruise is a good choice--but we didn't wait. We used the TouringPlans wait times app much more than our carefully constructed TP schedules. With FP+ it didn't make as much sense... However, I deeply believe plans like those are the way to tour smart. Probably I had the steps in my head and was operating as such... :)

In addition to the above suggestions, you might want to consider Speedway - I know our boys couldn't get enough of that silly car! and Buzz, they do love cars and guns! :rotfl:

Agreed, Speedway is a great choice! We went for that first the second morning we were there! Then we hit Mad Tea Party and met Alice and the White Rabbit.
