Please Help with Dishwasher Purchase

So we are in the market for a dishwasher. We are looking for a ss in the range of 300-800. However, every brand and model we look online gets horrible reviews on Amazon. As in "run away". We literally just spent hours looking at reviews. The weird thing is, the same models that get rave reviews on HD, LOWES, BB and others get 1 star on Amazon. We are dazed and confused. I just want a semi-quiet working dishwasher. Can you guys help?

We just bought this one about a month ago. I love it. It is so quiet you can't even here it running. Our old one sounded like a jet engine was gong in the kitchen. So far everything has come out perfectly clean no rewashing or residue left on anything.

We got it on sale for 365.

I have this samsung for a little over a year and I am so happy. I had previously had a kitchen aid. This samaung is so quiet we have to look at the light to see if it is running. Cleans very well

We just bought a Whirlpool at Lowes replacing a Kenmore that was from when the house was built.
The new one is Goldstar energy efficient--a regular cycle is 2 1/2 hours.
I love it, but that is crazy!
The reviews for it seemed to vary a lot too.

Yes. We've had a Bosch for at least 7-8 years now and haven't had a single problem with it. It still looks and runs like new. My favorite part? I can't even hear it. Love that.

I have what I assume is the cheapest Bosch which is probably what $800 would get you. It is the worst dishwasher I've ever had (I've probably had a dozen). This price range isn't Bosch's sweet spot.

I was asking the DISers about dishwashers myself not too long ago The majority said Bosch, but I didn't want to spend that much. This isn't our "forever house" and I just needed something to clean the dishes, be somewhat energy efficient, and quiet.

We ended up with a Whirlpool Gold from Lowe's. I think it was just under $600, but that was for white; not sure how much more stainless would cost. I love the Sensor cycle - it figures out how much water to use and how long it needs to run. I've not had dishes or glasses come out dirty yet. It's far from top of the line, but it gets the dishes clean, it's quiet, and that's all I need.

Check AJ Madison for reviews/to purchase. Things I look for are a stainless tub & cutlery tray. And although integrated and semi-integrated panels look really nice, they have a much higher rate of failure than full console, so you can decide if it's worth it to you.

BTW Blomberg makes a really good reliable dishwasher in your price range. If you can go a bit higher, Miele is the best. I would totally avoid Bosch & Kitchen Aid.

I can tell you to NOT get a Maytag!! Very long story, but their product came to us broken and their customer service was terrible!!

While we do have a working dishwasher now (after nearly TWO WEEKS of dealing with them!!) we will never buy another Maytag product!

We have been in our house for 15 years and it had a Kenmore when we moved in. It didn't last too long so we went with a Kitchen Aid. I guess we are very hard on dishwashers around here because after that we had a Bosch, then we had a Samsung and now we have a Whirlpool Gold Series. All of them have had pros and cons but I will never get a Samsung again. Horrible layout and the most problems. All I want is a stainless steel tub and a sanitizing cycle. The Whirlpool fits the bill and is holding up so far.

It does a good job, and I got it on sale for around $400. It uses less than a gallon of water, and takes about 2 to 2.5 hours to run a cycle. It is very quiet though, and the dishes get clean. All of the new dishwashers use a tiny amount of water. It's important to let the water in your kitchen faucet run until it is hot before you start the dishwasher. Otherwise, the dishwasher will fill up with cold water from the pipes, and the dishes won't get clean. (The same principle applies when doing a load of laundry that needs hot water. Run the faucet closet to the appliance until the cold water flushes through.)

Don't buy Kitchen Aid. Top rack always slides out, they tell me that is the design. Pump
Assembly started leaking after 15 months; out of warranty, leaky seal costa $75 to replace and $300 labour to diagnose and fix!

I hate my Kenmore Elite even though Consumers report ranks it number one, loud and very long cycles and sub par cleaning, never again, I miss my $300 GE.

I bought a Bosch last March and love it! I did a lot of research before purchasing my dishwasher and spoke to several repairmen for suggestions and Bosch was their 1st pick. I can load it up and not rinse the dishes and they come out spotless! The only way I know if it's running is if the red light is shining on the floor because it's that quiet.

I will never buy from Sears. They may have a local warehouses but costumer service phone center is not in the US. I spent hours on the phone and nothing got done. Also it was suppose to be top of the line and quite. So not true. Loudest thing I have ever bought and cheap. We have the extended warranty so I am hoping this thing breaks.......soon.

My sister recently replaced her dishwasher. The repairman that diagnosed her old one as "not worth it to fix it" told her that Frigidaire ones have 2 motors and last the longest.

She was going to get a Bosch from Best Buy - she bought a floor model at a discount and when it was installed, it didn't work. Long story short, BB gave her the runaround and promised her one when they couldn't deliver it, so she axed BB and went to a local shop and bought a Whirlpool to be delivered the next day (in time for her son's graduation party).

We have a Kenmore Elite that is about 4 years old. It has been repaired once (last year) but it's quiet and I think it cleans well.
