Everyone is so helpful here! Taking the advice of the DIS Veterans on this board, my family has chosen to go this January instead of next June. We will also try to put together our own package. This is where I need your help. I need advice on where and how to get the best deals possible. Since our 10th anniv is in Dec. and neither of us can take vacation (USPS & Walmart) at that time, we've decided to treat our trip as such.

Possible Discounts?
Disney Club Membership (just bought)
Amex Card holder
Postal Worker (Gov discount?)
Texas Resident
Anniversary discount?

Best Ticket type to get?
Jan 1-6 gives us 5 daysof exploring. Water parks not essential but DQuest might be handy for a BAD weather day.

Q&C meal vouchers recommended?
We're used to McDonalds, etc... having a 5 & 8 year old, but we'd like one nice meal to celebrate the 10th aniv.

Flex Features or other bonuses we should check on?

We may fly late Dec 31st and stay at either the Disney Resort or the Airport hotel in order to have the full New Years Day. If we go to the resort, does that lock in Holiday rates for the entire trip?

Any and all tips are welcome! Special Dinner not to miss? Best Character Breakfast (for the boys)? Best spots for souveneirs? All tips are welcome.
Thanks for being here!

I can help with a lot of your questions, well I can give you a site to checkout. http://www.mousesavers.com It's a great site listing all of the discounts at Disney World. It includes tickets, Rooms and food.

That should get you started.

Ooops! Another question!
If I make a reservation using a discount, but later find a better one, will they take the new one?

McDonalds at DisneyWorld is not like the one in your hometown!

Madonlds in our big city hometown, for Dh,Dd[15yrs] and Me,we can usually eat at Mc'Ds for $12. The same Meals at the Disney McDonalds was $32.!!

For much better food[4 star] at Hollywood and Vine Character Meal[in MGM] it was $55.00 and the Fantasmic Dinner package at the same restaurant was $58.!! They have a kid friendly buffet as well, and the Dessert were Fab!![even the skinnest women were eating more than 1 dessert!]

So,check out the menus at
www.wdwig.com/menu/menus.htm

Interesting the McDonalds in WDW (All Stars) was less than our McDonalds down the street in my hometown.

I guess it varies by location.

I agree, check with the mousesavers website. One ting you could do is book your room with at least the DC discount and when a code comes out - give a call back. I booked our May reservations with WDTC and a code came out and rebooked with Central Reservations. I had the DC discount as a back up.

I also agree that the McDonalds at DTD is not cheap. I am not familiar with the one by All Star's. Look at some of the menus at WWW.WDWIG.COM and see if there is something special for your anniversary. Check some of the character meals - I do not know how old your sone are or who they would like.

I believe flex features are with packages. IMHO we have found things cheaper booking things separetly on our own. Hotel, air, etc. We booked our air online through the airline. You have to check everyday and a couple times a day. We booked Delta at $112.00. Hotel with a code $99.00 a night at POR - waterview was $10.00 extra a night. Rental car with Dollar - $218.00 for 11 days.

Keep checking this website, I found so much help from others!!!

Hope this helps! Enjoy!

Souveniers is a definite at DTD - 10% DC discount.
