We are going in July for a week and in April for 10 days... Should we bite the bullet and buy the Annual pass we do get the DVC discount...I guess what I need to know are the perks for hotel and food worth the money?? Are there hotel discounts at Easter break?? We normally do not go every day to a park we like to stager it. I was researching tickets and came accross the discounts for AP holders and we could (if they are still available) save $40/day at our hotel in July. Are there discounts at high season ? Thank you :thumbsup2

If you are DVC, aren't you going to use your points?
The hotel AP discounts are rare to non-existant during high or holiday season.
The AP food discounts are not really useful, IMO. If you get the DDE with the AP discount, you can save some serious money on table service meals.

Good Luck! :sunny:

We usually go a week in the Spring and the week of T'giving. Getting the AP saves money in the long run, plus, you get discounts at DTD stores, restaraunts, etc.

We stay at the hotels on site for the first few days then stay at DVC sunday to Thursday. I guess what I'm asking is if anybody has ever had an AP discount at a hotel at Easter? There are six of us so we either need a cabin or two rooms. I know the renewal , for the AP is a deal....but a 10 day plus we could get three trips out of whereas a AP we will only get two. See why it is so confusing??

As a DVC member you get $100 off of the price on the AP. We do this all of the time. We plan 2 trips within one calender year. The second trip we don't have the cost of tickets. Think of it this way...you're going to 2 trips and add up the cost of hopper passes for those days. Then subtract $100 from the cost of AP and see what is cheaper. I think that you'll find the AP-$100 to be cheaper.

I can't comment on using AP codes during the holiday season, we always use our points when we go to WDW. :teeth:

In a word: Yes. :)

You're coming out ahead with a regular AP in that case, way ahead with the DVC discount. Up front will cost a bit more now, but next spring you don't have to worry about buying tickets. :thumbsup2

Eljay...using points Easter week is pricey. The OP can probably save money booking at a different hotel and save the points for later.
