We are taking a trip in June with my husbands family so this will not be our "typical Disney style" trip that we are used to taking. After looking at all the resturant choices (my husband's family are not Disney pros :goodvibes) my BIL has decided that his choices for dinner are Maya Grill, Trails End Buffet, Shutters (we are staying at CBR) or Olivia's. These are options for one night.

If this was just my family none of these resturants would be on the list but I am trying to be cooperative and flexible and try not to appear as a know-it-all when it comes to Disney . So any advice or recommendations on these resturants?? Has anyone eaten here before and could give me a review?

He also suggested Nine Dragons one night in Epcot. Any reviews for it would be great too. thanks!

Some of those are actually not bad choices, just that some of them are not so easy to get to unless you are staying in the resort where they are located...

Maya Grill was just fine last time we were there (over 2 years ago). Not sure I'd recommend it over other options, but it wasn't bad.

Trail's End is actually quite good, so long as you like simple family-style food. Fried chicken with salad and sweet tea, anyone? It can be made part of a fun evening if you book an earlyish dinner here and then head over to the campfire movie. Not too hard to get here from MK, and then get back to MK from here (or go home via DTD).

I stay at CBR quite frequently, and I have had dinner at Shutters several times in the past few years. Sometimes it is wonderful, sometimes the food is less than fabulous. Certainly the service is always very friendly and laid-back.

Olivia's I am less familiar with, ate there once several years ago and it didn't make enough of an impression for me to remember what I ate or what I thought of it.

Nine Dragons is not bad, we don't eat there becuase we live in the midst of an authentic Chinatown here and eat asian food all the time at home, but we did try it after they refurbished it, and were quite happy with it.

We ate at Shutters last year and found it to be pretty good. The food was good and the service was quite good as well. We were staying at CBR and our party was Me, DW, DS, my parents, my brother, SIL and nephew. We had several meals together(not all thankfully!) and needless to say, bro and SIL were always running late and making things stressful for the rest of us who like to be on schedule and who had done all the planning, etc. Anyway, the night at Shutters was easiest since it was right there and we were actually early!! Logistically speaking, you may want to take Shutters. Good luck!

We like Trails End. The price is right and there are things to do around the area. If you go later, you can see the water pageant from the beach.

Thanks everyone for your input. He (BIL) said he went through all the dining options (non-signature) and looked at all the menus and that was what he came up with. :confused3 They just aren't the "normal" resturants you would think of when you think of Disney dining so I was less than excited when I saw his choices - but trying to "go with the flow".

Any other input is still appreciated. Thanks! :thumbsup2
