For various reasons (which I won't bore you with) I am leaning towards having my VR ceremony at the Swan and Dolphin.
Would I be able to book a dinner at Sago Cay not through DFTW?
Would the food prices and F&B minimums be similar for a dinner booked through events (or whoever I would have to book through?)
Do I need to wait until 8 months out and who do I contact?
Sorry to be repetative but I am getting different answers from different people and I am very easily confused
Anybody have the answers - Carrie maybe?

Call Disney's Catered Events right this instant! :teeth: The number is 321-939-7278—I know it's spendy calling from the UK, but it will be worth it for peace of mind: They are the only ones who can tell you exactly what your options are so you don't freak out every time people post conflicting info on the DIS. You don't have to wait until 3 months or 6 months out to get the ball rolling, either. :goodvibes

Yes, but you usually can't wear your wedding dress. And anything that smacks of sneaking around DFTW is a red flag to them. (Having dancing, a wedding-style cake, etc.)

Hard to say—DFTW brides are quoted $1,000 minimums for dinner at Sago Cay, but DISer connorlevismom was just told her non-DFTW private dinner there has a minimum of $750. Then again, she was also told she had to have a $275 lighting package that DFTW never seems to mention. :confused3

See above. Good luck :thumbsup2

If you are going to be spending around $1000 anyway, perhaps you should book through DFTW and than you can wear your dress :confused3

Thank you both
Sorry for coming off needy and freaky outish!!!

No worries—I just meant that trying to glean info from a bazillion conflicting posts on a message board can be maddening, when all it takes to get the straight scoop is a phone call right to the source. :goodvibes

Besides, being needy and freaky outish is par for the course when you're a bride. I think I was that way for at least a year (and the actual wedding planning was only about 5 months :rotfl:).
