Forgot to add....Epcot is so beautiful in December so an Epcot resort would be a great choice then.

I vote for CR. I have seen some pics of the newly reno'd rooms and I think they look great. We have stayed Poly LVC and while it was great, I didn't think the cost was justified (JMHO). I like the idea of trying new resorts and the Contemporary is just so convenient. Concierge lite would be just about right for quick breakfasts etc. Dh and I are going for an adults only trip in 2 weeks ( :cool1: ) and we are staying at POR, again just to try something different. We are really looking forward to eating in some great restaurants that we really wouldn't enjoy as much with DS (4). You know what they say, variety is the spice of life! I'm sure you will have a fabulous time whichever you choose.

after a lot of thinking this trip through; what conveniences we wanted, location, restaurant locations, which parks we'd be at the most, etc., we FINALLY decided to change from Pop Century to the Polynesian GARDEN view concierge.

Just got off the phone with CRO. Guess what. No GVC rooms left for our dates. So, looks like my poll has the winning room with the most votes; we're now booked at the Polynesian in a LAGOON concierge room. lol

Thanks to everyone that voted and shared your comments and opinions with me! :flower:

Hi Terry:

As you know I just went through this for our trip next year.

We decided to stay Polynesian Gardenview Concierge. For our trip in two weeks concierge is closed so we are just staying gardenview and I requested Samoa facing the pool or facing the quiet pool.

I think since you were just there in July maybe you should try Gardenview Concierge. But I know you're like me and by next summer I am sure my Gardenview Concierge will be switched to Lagoonview.

It is a shame that were are going a month apart or we could have been there together, wouldn't that have been great.

Maybe next summer before your cruise you will decided to spend a few days at Disney and we will see you there. We will be there 8/17 - 8/20.

Miss you!

Lyn

Hi Lyn!! :wave2:

When I called today, there was no garden concierge available, so that's why we went with lagoon view concierge :sunny: I was *trying* to avoid lagoon view, but I guess I just can't. lol We had decided that we really wanted concierge for this trip, for many reasons, so we grabbed the lagoon room :)

I am not sure about next summer yet, but we'll be flying down on the 18th, if not before. Where will you be at that point? As of now, the plans are to do the same as last year; fly down on the 18th to stay at the Radisson, then board the Magic on the 19th. :boat:

Terry:

We will be at the Polynesian from the 17th - 20th.

I know the cruise group will be at the Raddison but I didn't know if you came down before or stayed after the cruise.

Glad you were able to get the Lagoonview it is more money than gardenview but better than being without concierge. I too feel it is worth the extra money.

I know you'll have a great trip.

Lyn :sunny:

You could try to keep calling to see if GVC opens up that does sometimes happen or you could consider it fate that you "have" to stay LCC. I would probably do the latter. I am a little worried about my first GV stay but this is my longest stay-9 nights :teeth: and I just can't justify the extra expense.

Deciding factors are basically location and price. We can afford the highest (Polynesian lagoon concierge) but not sure we need to do that on this trip since we don't plan on being at the resort much. But we do love the resort itself, and the excellent location.
For this reason alone, I'd take Poly Lagoon View Concierge. If you CAN afford it, why would you not? Remember, tomorrow may never come...and you'd hate to miss an opportunity to do what you really like, while you can afford it! (I'm not really a pessimist, just a realist.)
:goodvibes
editing to say, "good job!" Enjoy your trip!

For a difference of $300 I would go with the PolynesianGVC. You'll have the ease of getting to MK & Epcot + you have plans to eat there anyway.

I am curious why you didn't consider the Grand Floridian? Such a wonderful resort!

Personally I would stay in an Epcot resort if I was doing mainly Epcot and MK. You always feel to be so privelged to be one of the lucky people who can go in and out of Epcot at will and not have to take the monorail or bus back to your hotal. We adore Epcot and the Epcot area. The restaurants the boats, the dueling piano bar, the dance hall, etc. This would be so much fun for a couple to experience. It is so wonderful to be able to walk around the BW, BC,YC area at night AHHHHHHHHHHH! The BoardwalK area is FABULOUS! I would suggest the Boardwalk Inn Concierge or Yacht Club concierge.

Poly lagoon concierge is great but a change is nice too since you just stayed there.

Have a wonderful time but think about trying the Epcot resorts next time. :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

Thanks for your comments :sunny:

We have stayed at the Grand Floridian before and really enjoyed it. But DH and I enjoy the Polynesian more. :flower: We loved our lagoon view this past summer, and having the concierge lounge right there in the same building that also has the great castle and lagoon view :3dglasses We also will be dining at the Polynesian restaurants on this trip.

We are actually considering trying an Epcot resort for our next trip! A few people have been suggesting those resorts to us, and I agree that it would be nice to try a different resort eventually :earboy2: And it'll be fun to research an entirely new area of resorts! ::yes::
