Please help -- travel options - Airport to resorts

Hi all,
I have been trying to figure out our best option to get from the airport to WDW. Please tell me the options you used and why. I'm tempted to rent a towncar to make a Publix stop on the way to the resort. Are there 'regular' airport shuttle vans other than Mears to take you to WDW? We are a family of 4 - 2 adults, one 5 yo and one 2 yo. We'll have the carseat from the airplane.

We are also considering renting a car so we can resort hop more easily and take a trip to the outlets. Not sure I can justify the cost though. Still working on that part.

Thanks for sharing your stories. WE usually drive, but this is an off-time trip for us, so both DH and I will have to take leave and we don't want to waste a leave day driving, if that makes sense

We always take a private towncar. It's less stressful and you are taken straight to your resort. The drivers are always very polite and they don't mind making extra stops for you!!!

How long are you going for? In my experience, I've generally been able to find a rental car for around $20 a day, which, if you are going for just a long weekend, makes it cheaper and more convenient than a town car. I also like the flexibility having a car provides.

Have you heard of Disney's Magical Express? It's free, and for me it was great and convenient. And did I mention free???

I took care of groceries by getting a grocery delivery.
