Please help!!! Think I might change my mind

Leaving for WDW next Thursday...staying for 7 days with my DBF.

The only thing we will be doing outside of Disney is Universal for 1 day.

I got a reservation on Mears for RT Airport transfers and RT Universal the total
for 2 people is $78.

Now I am thinking about renting a car because it may make getting around easier.

Any thoughts on this and where I may find discounts on a car rental...I do belong to the disney club if that helps!

We stayed on-site at WDW and had our car. Even though Disney busses were available for our use, we drove to all the parks. We arrived at the parks in about 10-15 minutes from ASMo. In the AM we got spaces near the front and really didn't have to walk far to the entrances on EE days. If we park-hopped in the afternoon, spaces could usually be found close to the entrances, but it was not so easy to find the car when it was time to leave. THE LOTS ARE HUGE! If you rent a car and drive to the parks, be sure to notate the area where you leave your car. Parking was free at the parks since we were resort guests, so keep in mind that it will cost you ($7?) to park at each of the theme parks.
