Hello fellow DISboard members,
My name is Lauren and I am a Graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill who is pursuing a Masters degree in Information Science. I am currently working on my final Masters paper and am requiring your help for my research. My chosen study it to look at what influences travelers to make decisions based upon posts in tourism related online discussion forms. From my experience, members of DISboards have often influenced my Disney vacation related decisions, therefore, I have chosen this particular forum for my research.
I have created an online questionnaire for members to complete. This survey is completely voluntary and will assist in answering my questions related to your experience level with DISboards, whether discussion threads have assisted in making difficult decisions for your Disney trip, and whether members will analyze posts within discussion threads for information quality and author credibility. You will not be asked to provide any personal information. In order for the participant to not be connected with any information shared within the questionnaire, I ask that those members who are interested in participating to please send a private message to my user name, Disney4life222, stating that you are interested in volunteering. I will then send you a link to my online questionnaire for you to complete. Due to time constraints, the survey will be available for the next two weeks and will close October 15th. In the event that you decide not to participate upon receiving the link, you may just disregard the message. You will not be further contacted following the two-week period.
DISboard members who do decide to participate in the questionnaire will remain anonymous within the final Masters paper. Member names will not be used, as the purpose of the questionnaire is to receive quantitative results. As a reward to those members who participate in the questionnaire, all members will be placed within a drawing for a $20.00 Disney gift card. The winning DISboard member will be privately messaged and may voluntarily provide a mail address to receive the gift card. Thank you for you time and consideration.
