Planning to book our trip for 12/28/02 through 1/4/03, but cannot decide on a hotel.

We've narrowed our choices down to either the Caribbean Beach Resort or the Hotel Royal Plaza.

Any information or insight regarding one or both of these hotels would be appreciated. Specifically looking for info. regarding the ease of the bus transportation, room quality and size and hotel ammenities (i.e. whirlpool room at Hotel Royal Plaza).

Thanks.

First of all, welcome to the DIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would have to recommend the Caribbean Beach Resort, because my feeling is, if you are going to Disney you have to stay with Disney. However, a whirlpool tub is a tempting choice. But I look at it this way: after a LONG day in the parks, are you even going to want to fill up that tub? I'm always too tired at the end of a Disney day to do anything but crawl into bed. The other reason I like Caribbean Beach (CB) is because you never leave the magic. You're always immersed in Disney, even down to the Mickey Mouse soaps and shampoos. (I have a collection here at home that remind me of my many Disney trips).

So I obviously say to bag the jacuzzi and go with a Disney hotel. I don't think you will regret it! Service and theming are top notch!!!

I too would also recommend the CBR. They will be newly opened from the major renovation of Old Port Royale, the pool area and they will have the brand new restaurant. You could say you were one of the 1st to stay there. The renovations of the rooms were completed in the fall of 2001, so of the moderates, it is like staying in the newest one!

Thanks for the replies.

My next question would be that it seems best to stay close to Old Port Royal while at the CBR.

If this is the case, which buildings are considered the nicest (taking into account location, pool, beach, etc.)?

Keep seeing that Martinique buildings 24 - 26 and Trinidad North buildings 31-33.

Thanks again

Definitely go with CBR! :) On property is best! ;)

We were in Martinique 25 and it was perfect. :)
