So I am in the very early stages of planning my 2010 VR but I am one of those over planners so please humor me. ;)

I have been considering the Attic off and on. Right now we are looking at 15 to 20 people (of course that can change in 2 1/2 years) and so the Attic is the only choice I have seen that I feel will be cozy and not way to large for our small group. I like how the tables are set for groups of 4 so that we would not only have like 2 tables, but I do have a couple of concerns.

My first is the food. Since I can not contact Disney yet I have very limited information, but I have not found any buffet packages that can accommodate this small of a group and on top of that I am not too fawned of the choices I have seen anyway.

I am also concerned about the decor. I think it is lovely but I am not really sure it will go with the look I am going for with the rest of the VR. Can you cover the chairs? Has anyone used centerpieces? The tables are pretty small so of course I wouldn't want to do anything too big and fancy but I think something might be nice to just kind of spruce it up.

Any pics you would like to share with me? ;) I have seen Carrie's before and actually went back and checked them out again today but are there any others out there? I am paitently waiting for Nikki's too. :thumbsup2

Also one other thing, all of the pics that I have seen makes it look like there are only 4 tables inside. Is that true? I don't have a problem with that at all, in fact it would be a plus, but I just want to make sure I am seeing it right.
TIA

Hi!

Yes, there are only 4 tables inside, but there are 5 more outside and you can bring in a sweetheart table for the bride and groom (in case you end up with a crowd in 2 years!)

All the buffet menus can be customized - you can choose things from other menus or recipes from the parks - anything like that.

Here are a ton of menus: http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/ftw/wdw/menus.html

I don't think you can cover the chairs. My ceremony was Vaguely Moroccan, and it didn't bother me that the reception had a totally different look and feel... :thumbsup2

Thank you. I swear you are always around :lovestruc

I was kind of thinking it may not be that big of a deal. I could just have each event kind of have it's own "feel" to it. Like a very simple and elegant ceremony, than the cozy "home like" reception, and maybe a bit more sophisticated DP.

LoL who knows maybe in 2 years none of this will be an option and I will have to start all over again. :headache:

I wasn't all that excited about the attic until I started looking at different centerpieces and ideas for decorating. Then I really got excited about it. I think that you just have to try and incorporate your style into any venue. I am a big pink fan so I am having lots of pink flowers which will be great in the Attic. I am kind of going for a romantic, shabby chic kind of feeling that I think goes along with the attics decor now. Try and think of ways that you can make the Attic into your style. :cutie:

Pink will go great in the attic. I was thinking that since we are doing a Dec VR our colors will be white and red. I was going for a very simply, clean look with a very slight Christmas touch but not overly Christmasy, but I don't see it going as well. I am sure I could figure something out though.

I can't wait to see your pics of what you did!! What kind of decorating are you doing? I kind of like how the tables are small so the centerpieces can really be small and simple also.

:rotfl2:

I have a really boring job...:thumbsup2

:rotfl: I use to have one of those too. Now that I am a SAHM I have much less time for the internet :rotfl2:

I am doing pretty small centerpieces. I have a few ideas that I want to discuss with the florist but they are definitely small. Its great because you really don't have to do a lot to the place. I am just a big flower person so I have to have some kind of flowers around. I am thinking pink roses, pink tulips and pink gerber daisies or something like that. Some white Hydrangeas too to break up the pink.

We have a few pics of the Attic that my mom printed out (she can't figure out how to email digital pics :confused3 ), but once I get them from her today, I will scan them in and post them this weekend.

Like others said, it can really be whatever you want it to be. ALLLLLLL of our guests loved it. From my Tennessee family, to the children who loved running around and bouncing on the couches to DH's Manhattan based Accountant Bestman and his Accountant wife who had their November 2007 wedding on the penthouse level of a skyscraper overlooking the Manhattan skyline.

And best of all, DH and I (both Architects and super picky about decor and layouts) LOVED it. Out of everything we saw, we fell in love with the Attic's layout and charm. It was such a romantic, shabby chic but elegant space. ANd the view was absolutely phenomenal. I am so happy that we can see Epcot in our cake cutting pics and in other pics we can see Sea Breeze Point.

It was also gorgeous to be there at sunset. The inside was lovely, but the porch was even more gorgeous. We sat there and watched the Boardwalk light up and the sky was gorgeous.

I really can't say enough about how magical it was there.

And I concur, there are many possiblities as far as food is concerned. Our food was delicious and everyone was very happy.

Nikki you do make it sound awesome! I would love to hang out outside and watch the boardwalk light up!!!! What time was you cemermony again? Although since mine will be in Dec there will not be day light savings time so it would get dark earlier.

I have been torn between an EPCOT ceremony and SBP but I think the later reception (and getting more sleep) is definitely swaying me towards SBP.
