Please Help! QUESTIONS regarding Universal with 6 year olds

Going to be in Orlando area mid April (not during a holiday). Husband will be in meetings during the day. Would like to take the kids (age 6) to Universal in the evenings. I have a few questions...please chime in and help this momma out

CROWDS:
Can we expect about the same as Magic Kingdom (for example)?
Line wait times? Again, similiar to MK?

PARKS:
One or two parks - I am confused? Would we want tickets for each? Are there plenty of children's attractions at each?

WHAT "NOT TO MISS" ATTRACTIONS OR RIDES

TRANSPORTATION:
Staying at Gaylord Plams...would it be best to cab it?

The park hours for Universal have not been released past March so I'm not sure how late they are open. Universal does not stay open as late as Disney so keep that in mind.

Crowds: Between Spring Break and Easter the crowds are usually low but the waits could be as much as 30 minutes or so.

Parks: Both parks have kiddie areas that your children would enjoy. The Studios has the whole Woody Woodpecker KidZone which includes the Woody Woodpecker Nuthouse coaster, Curious George Goes to Town (water area that is a lot of fun if it's warm enough) and Barney. There is also Fievel's Playground. There is also E.T., Animal Actors On Location show, Jimmy Neutron and Shrek-4D.

At IOA you have Seuss Landing which has several fun rides for the kids and adults alike as well as the Jurassic Park Discovery Center, Me Ship The Olive, Camp Jurassic and the Pteranodon Flyers coaster.

Not to miss: I wouldn't miss anything to tell the truth. Everything is fun and your kids will spend hours between the two parks.

Transportation: You should probably check with the hotel to see what types of shuttles they offer...if any. If that doesn't help, probably best to take a cab.
