Hi there! I have a few POP questions and am hoping someone can help me out here. THANKS!!! :)

1. Blow dryer in room? Is it decent strength or would bringing a dryer from home be advisable?

2. Can you get a roll-away cot at POP? For the record, we are only having 4 people in the room, but dh has a very bad leg and requires much space and pillows to support it. I am not sure anyone will be able to sleep with him in a full size bed. If we can't get a cot, I am considering bringing a twin air mattress. I don't mind paying for a cot. We just have to get creative to make this work. :)

3. When should I phone to double check my room request and be certain they have it? We really need ground floor due to his medical issues. I did pay for preferred to insure a closer location to the bussing.

4. Is the safe similar size to the safe at Caribbean Beach Resort?

5. Any breakfast tips at the POP food court? Timing? Finding a table? Food?

Thanks SOOOOOOO much!!! This is our second trip onsite and we can't wait!

DH and I stayed at Pop 2/1-2/6, and we're returning in May.

1. There is a blow dryer in the room. I didn't have any problem with it at all, it is a small one though. I will use it again, it's the same on at the other WDW resorts I've stayed at.

2. I don't know about the roll away cot; I don't think you can get them at the values, but I don't know for sure. I don't know where you would put it in the room, or where to find room for an air mattress either. Hopefully someone else will have experience with that.

3. I called to have my requests added to my reservation. Make sure to remind them at checkin, but they won't guarantee anything, it's just a request.

4. I don't remember the safe size at CBR, but the one at Pop was big enough for our laptop, we just had to stand it up instead of side to side; no big deal at all.

5. Breakfast--We had a couple of good breakfasts at Pop, just make sure you get there early. By 8 am, the place was a zoo. We tried to eat close to 7:00 or 7:15; you can always go back to the room and finish getting ready if you need to. The food for breakfast was good; the adult breakfast platter was mroe than enough for DH and I to share, and the breakfast pizza was also good.

Hope this helps!

I'll try to answer some for you.

1 - Yes, there is a hair dryer. It worked just fine for us.

2 - I don't know about the availability of cots because we never had the need for one.

3 - Be sure that "ground floor for medical reasons" is noted on your reservation. You should have no problem.

4 - The safes are a decent size. You can fit a laptop in them.

5 - Breakfast foods are good at Pop. There are a lot of choices. The most crowded time is at 8AM. After 8:30, there is a big change in the crowds.

You will LOVE Pop. It's our favorite. Enjoy your vacation!

You can get a cot at POP. We have seen housekeeping with them before. Cost would pobably be around $15/night.

I would skip the rollaway since that charge adds up. Also, I have seen posts where they say they have them and seen posts where they say they don't. That said, we have taken an air mattress each of our value stays, including POP and it worked out great. That $12 airbed and $8 pump I bought at Wal Mart has paid for itself many times over! Its easy to lean the airbed up against the wall while you don't need it.

And I love the strawberry pancakes at Pop, they are so yummy. And I don't typically even like pancakes that much. The eggs and bacon platters are also tasty.

Is there room on the floor of your room at the Pop for an air mattress? What size are you talking about? I thought the rooms were really small.

There is plenty of room for a twin sized mattress. The room is on the smallish side but not so small you can't fit somthing that size into it. I have put a sleeping bag bed in between the beds and when my son got too big for that we switched to a twin sized airbed. It fits easily between the bed and the door. During the day we just prop it up against the wall. At Pop the beds are on a platform type thing so there is no space underneath them to slide anything. At the All Stars and the moderate resorts, I can slide the airbed under one of the beds.

I have heard you can fit a twin air mattress between the two beds. I am thinking of bringing mine because I heard the POP beds are hard. I have a hard time normally on a hotel bed anyways.

Food court, better or worse than the all stars? We usually eat pretty early because we like to get as much park time in a possible, and maybe even try for a return to the resort mid-day for swimming. Not opposed to bringing back food to the room and eating there.

Oh, and Mickey waffles? Tell me they have Mickey waffles there? My best friend was all giddy about them last time we took a trip (ASMo) and I think she might actually be crushed if she had to go without one! Thanks. :thumbsup2

We got a cot over Christmas week, it is $10.60 a night.
We have already taken a aero bed with and used that.
You can just move the table and chairs around to make it fit.
We have done this a few times so I know it works.

There are elevators, so maybe not being on the ground floor wouldn't be an issue.

Good luck on your trip!

This was my one issue with Pop. When I go to Disney I want my Mickey waffles! The last time I stayed at Pop they did not have adult Mickey waffles. If I remember correctly, this did have a child size Mickey waffle, however. Can anyone confirm this?

I have read that POP has Mickey waffles. I think someone said there kids were eating them, so the yare probably kids ones. But who cares if they are big or small.

Does anyone know if POP has a coffee pot in the room? My daughter and I are taking a quick trip for a long weekend in 9 days and it is our first time at this resort. We stayed at a value resort a long time ago but can't remember if they have coffee pots in the rooms. Thanks.:confused3

Thanks for al the answers everyone! :)

There are no coffeemakers.

Anyone know about an iron in the room? Thanks! :)

Yes, irons. You all know there's an entire thread here devoted JUST to this one resort? It's The Groovy New Pop Century FAQ Thread...

Yes, thank you. I have read some of the posts in that thread. However it is so huge it is hard to find small specific things. Also, the main post is about the 'new' upcoming POP Century. Although it is a WONDERFUL post, some of the info may have changed in the last 3 years. Thanks for the tip, it's truly appreciated, but those are the reasons I asked my questions. I did find some answers to other questions in the above listed thread though, thanks! :)

Yes, the Groovy Pop thread is too overwelming. It has some good infor, but it is over a sapn of a few years and not all is accurate anymore.

I just buy the kids size! I'm not a big breakfast person so this is enough to get my day started.
