PLEASE HELP: PayPal, Start Up and Easiest

Can anyone PLEASE help me.

I need to open a PayPal account and need the easiest risk-free way available.

I DO NOT want to use any cards or bank account I have now.

Is there a way not to have to open a bank account and just have funds transferred to a card? I had hoped I would be able to get paid by checks but that doesn't seem possible.

Also, is there a way from a paypay account to get the money in a check instead of a credit card?

I just open a free checking account at my bank link to my paypal account.

I think ING has free checking account but I am not sure. Once been with paypal a while you is able to get pay pal debit card.

You can withdraw money from your PayPal account via check. It costs $1.50 per check. I wait until I have over $200 in my account. Then I request a check in the amount of $201.50. PayPal takes the $1.50 as a fee so my final check is in the amount of $200. I usually get them in the mail in less than a week.

The easiest, least risky way is to use a Money Pak. These are gift cards you can purchase at places like Walgreens. I think they cost $4.95 for the card and then you load it with a dollar amount. You then set up your Paypal account using that card.

To use Paypal, this is the only way to do it without using a bank account or credit card.

As to removing the money, Paypal offers a debit card that has no fees on it. Check into that.

I just opened an account at my local bank to link to PayPal. If I keep $100 in there I am not charged any fees. If I need to send funds to PayPal it is easy enough to stop by and deposit cash. If I need to take funds out I have PayPal send them and then I stop in and make a withdrawal.

Well, how about that LOL I had no idea! Why wouldn't I just want to use this. I can just open the account and not have to make a trip to the bank on a Saturday since I work during the week. Thank you all. I went onto ING but in order for me to open a checking account, I have to send funds from my existing checking account so they can be "linked" which is exactly what I didn't want to do.
I don't want to transfer funds that I made into my checking account only to have my dh tell me to leave it there to pay bills or leave it there until we are ready to go on vacation.
I just want something seperate so my options are:
Go to bank and open new account
By the cash card thing, which is what I may end up doing.

Then, I went to PayPal and set up an account. I must be an idiot but I do not know what my account number is for PayPal and it never asked me to link my credit card.

SO, my question is: If I want to sell something and I say I use a PayPal account, what the heck am I giving them? I am clueless (as you can see).

I also have money sitting in textbroker and it gets sent to PayPal. How the heck do I get that too.

You don't have to link the credit card until you want to pay for something using it through paypal OR if you want to have money transferred to it. It's been a while since I set up my paypal account, but your account doesn't have a number. It's associated with the email address you use to log in. I'm sure someone else can explain it in more detail than me.

BUT, I do not want to use it to purchase, I want to use it so people can pay me. Is that the same?

I honestly don't know all that much about PayPal, and only just started using it a couple of years ago but I don't think I'd ever consider getting some card that was going to carry a monthly fee just to use PayPal.

I opened a totally separate bank account that is linked to my PayPal account. Free checking, no fees. I move money in and out all the time without issue. The account is not linked in any way to my other accounts unless I initiate a transfer myself, through my bank's website, to move money between checking accounts. Paypal has no record of the joint account I share with my husband.

Thanks msmayor. I wasn't aware of the monthly fees until I registered my card last night. I will just use the card until I can get to the bank and open a seperate checking account, not linked to my joint account.
I work full time so going on a Saturday is one of my only options unless I go next Thursday when I think they are open late.

It's all new to me and I just listed my first item on e-bay.
