Hello,

Welcome. Just briefly reviewing your list, I think you can get the park tickets cheaper. Are you getting a 1 park / 2 day pass for US? Or 2 park/2 day pass? Either way you can get cheaper than that price. Along with the hoppers also. You need 6 adults and 1 child, correct? Have you tried Undercover Tourist. They have great pricing for tickets.

Your airfare is good for the 7 of you. Not sure about car rental because we don't rent a car and we stay on site.

Good luck, any other questions just ask.

As a follow-up to the previous poster, sign up for the Mousesavers newsletter. You'll get a private link to the Mousesavers ticket discount with Undercover Tourist. I haven't found cheaper tickets anywhere else, and they're really a great company to work with. Enjoy your trip!

Three things-

First- for a rental car keep looking all year to see if the price goes down, you can always re-book or cancel. Go to Mousesavers.com and look at all the discount codes (I do best with Alamo and National). Are you looking for a van or 2 cars? Two cars may be cheaper and give you more flexibility- but then you have to pay to park 2 cars (currently $14 a day at WDW.) I have never paid more than $350 for 10 days (non-peak)- and I always have a mini-van, suv or cross-over.

Second- in the past 4 or 5 years park passes have had their price increase the first Sunday in August, so buy your tickets before you get there. If you sign up for Mousesavers newsletter they have a link for Undercover Tourist that has deals on tickets and a good reputation.

Airport parkng- is there a cheaper lot off-site? I fly out of Boston and I save a ton with a private off-site lot and never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a shuttle. Plus they run coupons and have a rewards program- just got a free week.

Where in NJ are you flying out of? I fly out of Newark and I've parked in the economy lot the past 2 trips without a problem. It is easy to find, and you take a shuttle back and forth to the terminal, and it was much cheaper.

Another thought on the car parking. Check into the price of a limo or taxi or bus or paying a friend to drive you to the airport. My cousin always takes an limo service and it only costs $50 each way.

Don't forget to add $14.00 a day for disney parking- don't know how much parking is at universal!

Another possibility to save on parking at the airport is to book a park and fly hotel. Usually, you pay for a room for ine night and can usually park a week or so for free.

We did this a couple years ago out of White Plains Ny. They charged us one nights room and $10 a day for anything over a week.

Even if a room is $150, you could cut that cost in half.

Hope this helps.

Could you have someone take you to and pick you up from the airport in Newark? Or is there long term parking for cheaper? That seems like a lot of money for parking.

Can you not find a better deal on a car rental? I am assuming you are renting a van, right? That just seems like a lot.

I know you said you chose WH for a reason, but you can get a 5 bedroom/4bath pool house in another subdivision for a lot less than that. Even in WH, I bet you could find something less than $200/night. We are staying here from August 12-20 for $625/week.

It may not save you much money, but you could get more days for Sea World and Universal, and also check out Aquatica and Wet n Wild as uch as you like for 14 days. The cost would be $262 adult and 243 child, for a total of $1815(vs $1853 for what you posted) You can get those tickets here if you are interested http://www.mapleleaftickets.com/orlando_flex_tickets.htm

I can't think of anything else to save you money. If you were getting there a few days earlier, you could have your son do the YES program(there is a class August 8th morning). That would get you 40% off WDW tickets. The only class during your dates is booked full.

The jump from a 5 to 7 day disney hopper pass is a couple bucks per person. For your first orlando trip that is a lot of parks even if you are going for 10 days. And at least for my family, it's slow going herding 7 people around. I feel you could easily spend 7 days at disney world and drop one of the other parks. Or even take a rest day at your vaca rental in between parks. That might reduce ticketing costs.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

I would drop the park hoppers. If it's your first trip you will ahve too much to see in each park that park hopper might be useless in a way.

House rental, I just rented a house for 7 night for $500 in May about 10 minutes to Disney. It has 2 master bedroom and 3 other rooms plus 4 bathrooms including 2 master bathrooms. I'm sure you could find something much better then $2000. Ebay has lots of really good deals.

I am looking at the number of park days you are planning in the heat of summer.

I would drop Seaworld or Universal. You have a pool at the house and will want some down time. Either that or reduce your days to one on each.

The other option would be to drop both and increase your Disney days, which would be a minuscule amount added to your ticket prices.

Is this your first trip? There is a lot to do and see.

If you get non-hopper passes, that will save money as well. Especially considering it's your first trip. You can do one park a day and then use the last day to revisit a favorite. There is a lot to see in each park and you'll lose a lot of time moving from one park to another.

Good advice for first trippers!

You might consider the Youth Educaton Series Program (YES) for your 8 year old. There is a class being held 8/9/11 and if he participates in the class you can get 5 day base tickets (non park-hoppers) for everyone in your party for $151 each, total of $1,057 for your party of 7.

Also, I think you have too much packed into you trip. Personally I'd skip Sea World/Aquatica.

Do you plan to eat? I don't see an allowance for food in there. It can be a very huge chunk of your budget, especially if you are planning any character meals. Check the disney menus at allears.com for an idea of what food costs. Tax will be 6.5% and is not included in the menu price. Tipping at tableservice and buffets runs 15%-20% more.

For tickets, I also recommend dropping the hopping and just adding another day or two at Disney. The cost of additional days is so much less than adding hopping.

For the Universal/Sea World/Aquatica tickets, I recommend discountorlandovaction.com's 4 Park Bundle O' Fun. $241/adult and $221/child. You get 14 consecutive days of admission to Sea World and Aquatica and a 3 day 1 park per day Universal ticket that expires 14 days after the first day of use.

I know that most first time visitors want to do all three parks. This is especially true if you feel that this will be your one and only visit to Central Florida. But there is so much at Disney World alone that you will wish you had 7, 10 or even more days to spend there! I try to encourage my friends to choose between Disney and Universal/SW/Aquatica. Otherwise, you're spending a lot of money on the front end of all of those tickets and you are not permitting yourself enough time at any of the parks to really feel like you got to do much.

For a first time trip I would probably drop Sea World and Universal. We did 10 days our first trip and did Disney and Universal and it was just too much. We were exhausted. If you could do the YES program I would do that and get the waterparks and more option. We love the waterparks and it's a good relaxing day for us. Look on mousesavers for discounts on the car. We got a house in Clermont for 10 days for $600 so you might look around on homeaway.com or vrbo.com and see if you can find something else.

Good luck and I hope you have a blast!

you are absolutely rt... too much to do on a 10 day trip w/ kids and parents...I think is best to stick to WDW and save SW/Aquatica/Universal Studios for another trip..My mom also suggested that maybe the teens may not want to go to Seaworld so maybe just hold off on those tix and we'll see if our son really wants to go then we will just buy SW tix that day for just DH, myself and Jeremy... Now im deciding on ADR for our last day we leave on a Fri so Im thinking a meal for Wed and shop...but i just dont know if we should do dinner or breakf...maybe shop, go back to the rental and dinner in the evening...I didnt schedule any ADR's for breakfast mainly dinners....I think breakf. I rather do at the home rental. I also saw some restaurants outside Disney i want to try...
