Where I live we have 4 choices of airlines at our local airport; USAirways, Continental Express, Delta and Northwest.

For our trip in March, I am worried to book USAirways, but have never flown anything else. I remember reading here about complaints against Delta for changing itinerary and not telling the ticket holders.

Any one want to pass along their 2 cents, the good, bad and ugly?

USAir is famous for changing flight times and numbers without telling anyone.

Personally I'd avoid USAir because they're currently is Chapter 11. Who knows whether they'll be flying next March? Even if they are, they could very well cancel your flight after it's too late to rebook on another airline. Why take the chance?

Delta is okay.... if you must change planes, try to book your flight so it changes at CVG instead of ATL. Yes, Delta changes their flight times. I've twice had a serious change happen (such that it would have been IMPOSSIBLE to make my connection). Each time, I called Delta and was actually put on a NON-STOP flight with one of the "Delta Connection" carriers.

NWA, my wife likes flying with them and hasn't had any problems. (I haven't flown with them since 1997, so I can't comment.)

Both Delta and NWA have pretty good web sites. They each are pretty easy to "navigate" when doing "online check-in".

Good luck.

What airport are you flying out of? I think you are better off picking an airline that has alot of flights out of your airport. If they have to take a plane out of service, it's easier to get another one or get parts if they have more flights. One time we were stuck in Atlantic City for hours with Spirit because they needed a part for the plane that had to be flown in on a flight from Florida.

I live in NW Penna., and we always have to fly to a hub (Pittsburgh, Detroit, Cleveland, or whatever Deltas is). We do not know the wonder of non-stop to anywhere except those places. Since we are going in early March, I hate to plan to drive anywhere but 2 miles to the Erie airport.

We are very limited in choices here. I see JetBlue flies cheaply from Buffalo. Any opinions on them?

You know, NM Penna doesn't mean much to those of us who are trying to offer assistance, unless we live in our around NM. ;)

Does NM refer to New Mahoning, New Milford, New Millport, New Market, Newmanstown, Newmansville, North Mehoopany, North Mountain, or Nu Mine?

To answer your question about JetBlue: Fly with them whenever possible...they're absolutely the best!!
