We usually tour the MK at opening but I need some advice as we are travelling this trip with some "late risers" (early August) and will probably hit MK at noon. What day would you recommend? We could make it a Fri., Sat., or Sun.

I always felt MK should be avoided on Sat. but I see that the UG touring plans suggest Sat. as a day to tour MK. Please help! I need to make my ARs. Thanks!!

I find that MK is busier on Sunday then Saturday. Haven't figured out why yet though.

I read somewhere yesterday that Saturdays are not bad at the MK. It seems it is a travel day for a lot of people so this holds down the crowds.

I have found Saturday not nearly as busy as other days of the week, I was pleasantly surprised, for some reason I had always imagined the weekends being busier. Do not go on Monday!

From what I've heard Sundays and Mondays are the biggest crowd days at MK. I think this is due in large part to the fact that there alot of people that come in on Sunday, and either go straight to the park or kick back and relax on arrival day and hit MK as their first park on Monday.

As other posters have said, I've heard that MK is not as busy on Saturdays. I'd also avoid it on days when EMH evenings are posted.

I think Saturday afternoons into the night are busy at the MK even though it is considered a busier travel day. Last fall during value season (September) we went on a Saturday and it was completley packed at MK by the late afternoon. I know this doesn't hold true for everyone, but people that have later flights on Saturday probably head to MK to catch a few rides before leaving for the airport and then people that come in earlier in the day get excited and think of heading to the MK especially in the late afternoon to catch Spectro or Wishes, etc. Once again I know that not everyone does this (depending on thier ticket situation) and that some people will just hang out at the resort and swim or go to DTD or other parks, but that has been my experience. Plus I head to a park the day I get there, but not the day I leave.

Thanks all! I think we will plan on Sat. Happy Disney dreaming!

I am bumping this back up because I am feeling unsure about touring the MK on Sat. VS Sunday. Anyone have opinions on this??!! Thanks! :confused3

Hi, My family and I have been going to WDW for the past 18 years. It used to be that Saturdays were CRAZY and to be avoided . And Sundays were GREAT,especially in the AM- EMPTY! But the past couple of years Sundays have become the CRAZY day. I am not sure why, possibly because Sunday was an EE day for a while. So the past couple of visits we have done MK on Saturdays and avoided the MK on Sundays, this has seemed to work for us. We usually visit mid-summer, Feb., and April. Hope this helps! Joan

I find it interesting that a lot of people like Saturdays better. We tend to avoid MK on Saturdays and go on Sundays. We were told by a cast member at our resort last September that MK is best on Sundays because it is the big travel day. We went on a Sunday, and it was completely empty. Our longest wait was like 20 minutes for Splash. And we went on Space 3 times and waited no longer than 10 minutes. Granted, it was September and very quiet everywhere, but we were surprised how quiet that Sunday was. We plan to go to MK on Sunday again this year... We were also told to avoid Mk on Mondays, Epcot on Tuesdays, MGM on Wednesdays, and AK on Thursdays. Apparently a lot of people go to the parks starting on Mondays and go in that order. So we also avoid those parks on those days!
