I have Ressies for Le Cellier at 820pm...(WHICH WE LOVE) Meaning I am going to miss Illumination (WHICH WE LOVE). What Can you guys tell me about SAN ANGEL INN. I have not seen to many Above average Reviews for this place...But the food on the menu sounds pretty good.

If San Angel is a no go... where else would you suggest to eat in epcot.

Thanks.

I think that if the menu at San Angel appeals to you, you should give it a try! Don't go by what others say...everyone's taste is different!

i agree...but, If the majority of the people don't think its worth it. I dont want to waste time or money eating something I may not like :teacher:

We were there a year ago, it was a very nice atmosphere (though the tables are awful close together) the food was bad. I don't know how they did it but they managed to ruin the chips and salsa. There was not much flavor in the entrees. It was rather bland all around. We probably would not go back. I know some people think it's great but I've had better meals at Chi Chi's and that's not saying much.

San Angel Inn is and always has been a favorite of our family. The food is very good. You have to remember, food is very subjective, and this is not Taco Bell, americanized mexican..lol. This is a little bit americanized, but mostly realistic mexican from a certain region in mexico (can't remember which one).

We also love Chefs de France, Marrakesh and Alfredo's.

We just ate at San Angel Saturday night - 10/29/05 and it was wonderful! We were late for our ressies because of bad bus service (another story). They were very accommodating for our party of 6 and got us in very quickly. Service was slow at first - they gave our server 3 tables at the same time, but Rosario was very nice and attentive. Food was excellent. I was worred about ordering appetizers and dinner at the same time because of other reviews I had read, but they were spaced perfectly. Rosario explained about each of the dishes and we had a variety, nachos, combination plates, both the Mahi Mahi and Tilapia dinners. All were excellent. I personally liked the chips and salsa, don't know if it is changed but the chips were very warm and fresh. The only area that was lacking was the desserts. I don't like flan or bread pudding. Wish there was sopapillas or ice cream option.

Overall, I was worried about the restaurant, but was surprised and very happy with the outcome. ;)

I have eaten there but a long time ago - it was great, i loved it and i am fussy. I would not let my choice of restaurant prevent me from seeing Illuminations tho - Le Cellier is very nice, but not that nice!

I doubt you could pay me enough to eat there again. Yes the atmosphere is nice. The food is bad and the service is the absolute worst!

Most servers will let you go watch the Fireworks between courses. The Surf & Turf at Le Cellier is excellent and is included on the Dining Plan. I would stick with Le Cellier and check back periodically with the dine line to see if an earlier time opens up. Enjoy! :earboy2:

We went last year and my DFi hates mexican food, but he had a drink while we ate. After we all raved about how good the Tampinqu (sp?) was, he tried it and loved it. It was such a tender piece of beef it just fell apart on your fork. Just thinking about it makes me drool! Everything we got was fresh and prepared well and just yummy. Some of the stuff was a little spicy, but I'm a wimp when it somes to spicy stuff! This is not your average home town mexican resturaunt (well at least not mine). Although there was not alot of menu choices, most were more authentic than we can find locally. Our services was average, not great but not horrible. I loved the atmosphere and we didn't even have to wait for a table without an ADR (7:00pm in Sept). We would definately return again and we have plans to go this year.

If the food sounds good-then give it a try. We did lunch there once and the food was good. The tables are close together (as has been mentioned) and it's kind of "dark" inside. But it is kind of interesting to sit and watch the River of Time boats slide by.
If for some reason it dosen't suit, we like the Coral reef. had a fine dinner there early in October.

We were not thrilled with San Angel......we thought the service was awful and the food not great. Actually when we got the bill, the waitress had charged $85 for cokes.... we were like What?????????????Took them forever to fix the bill, and we thought never again will we eat here..

I have always liked Teppanyaki for lunch, although they have made some changes as well.. no longer is the salad included with the meal but the food is good, cooked in front of you and very tasty..

San Angel is the one restaurant that I always go to on each trip. I have always enjoyed my meals there. I will be trying LeCellier on this upcoming trip but I actually don't find that menu too appealing.

We also had a good experience with a sick child no less...I don't know if it helped, but we were seated by the water ride. So there were people on one side. Our waiter was very good.

I also like Beirgarten(but it is loud) and if you are not used to German Food(and it is Americanized) it might be alittle difficult to figure out what some of it is.

We have done Rose/Crown DH(German) hates it, I like it. But I will eat Bangers and Mash or Chicken Pasty (I'm Irish).

Another option is just walk up to(or take boat) Broadwalk for Spoodles or go to the Cape MAy Clambake, or if you want a high end meal there is also the Yatchclub Steakhouse. Just eat around 7pm to get back for Illuminations.

I am in the process of trying all different restaurants, so I can have more choices on future trips. Good luck
