Hi all,

Our trip has been booked now since Feb for our party of 9 and we got all the dining reservations we wanted booking on the 180 day mark but now we have a problem, one member of our party has had to cancel and will not be coming on our trip :sad1: what should we do about our reservations? Will it be ok to turn up to our bookings with just 8 people and explain? I looked into changing them but I can't get the places I want for the times we have planned. Please can anyone provide some helpful advice?

I wouldn't do a thing. It happens all the time on vacation. One member of a party doesn't feel well or can't make it. It won't be a problem.

Just tell the hostess when you check in that your party will be one less and there won't be an issue.

I would call disney if you have some reservations that had to be paid for or you gave your CC number for guarantee. Last year I had the same problem were Dh couldn't come and simply walked up to the podium and told them were were 4 instead of 5. Never had an issue but I did cancel his place at Akershus ahead of time

I wouldnt do a thing about your ressies other than the ressies that have a cc guarantee on it (as the poster above had said). Those are the only ressies i would call to let them know that there will be one less. Better to be safe than sorry!

The restaurants are pretty good about this. They know people book ADRs early and lots of things can happen in six months. Just make sure you call to adjust any that have a CC hold since they would chanrge you a no show fee for that person. The other places, no problem! Just inform the host/hostess when you check in for your meal.

Thank you, I feel much better after you helpful replies, we do have a reservation for California Grill on our last night so will call to let them know :thumbsup2

Please call up and tell Disney that it'll be one less in your party. :wizard: I know it's just one seat per reservation, but there will be people who really need those reservations, so please free them up :) I know too well how incredibly frustrating it is to search and search for a reservation and not get any because people hold on to reservations they don't intend to use. Thanks! :goodvibes

I totally agree that it is best to cancel as soon as you know you can't make a ressie, but in this situation, I don't think it's practical. We had ADR's for 9 during our January trip and then the stomach bug made it's way through our party. When I checked in, I let the hostess know how many we were and it wasn't an issue. I tried to call and change the reservation, but the reservation line actually told me both times that changing the reservation wasn't necessary and that they really couldn't anyway since the restaurant was fully booked.
