DH who never gets time off has been told he can take 2-3 days max IF he takes it before the end of Dec., gives at least a weeks notice, and no one else asks for the date.

We want to take our first ever trip to DL. Please help us plan. I only have super slow dial up right now and I can not even get on the official Disney web page due to timing out. I have almost no ability to research anything on this dial up and I am in the country, so no library.

What do you thing the best dates would be for me? I want to see the NBC overlay (and Pirates) and I hate crowds.

I thougt 13-18 but discovered that that week might be more busy. Then I thought 6-11th, but forgot that the
11th was Veteran's day. Maybe Dec 4-9th?

Suggeston for the closest hotel in the 60.00 range with no bed bugs or drug addicts. :-)

What is the name of the restraunt in Pirates? Do you think I can get reservations this late? What number do I call?

Sorry to ask for so much help, but I am pretty helpless right now! :flower3:

We like going the week after Thanksgiving (this year that's Nov 30 - Dec 4), so the crowds are a bit lower, as we go during the weekdays. The NBC overlay will still be up.

The Blue Bayou is inside POTC and I'm sure you can still make PS..you may need to be a touch more flexible with your date/time though. (714) 781-DINE is the number to make PS for BB.

Not sure about the hotel situation...I'm sure the wise folks here can help with that.

Good luck!

If you choose to go 13-18, Howard Johnsons has entertainment rate listed for the 13-17 so you could get a room for $59/69/79 depending on room type. You would need an entertainment card before you arrived and need to phone 714-776-6120 and ask for inhouse reservations.

I have no input for you regarding which dates you should go.

THe restraunt is Blue Buyou. I do not know the phone number. You can only make PS 60 or is is 30 days out, so yes you will be able to make arrenagements

We're also doing Nov 29 to Dec 4, and are hoping for (relatively) low crowds. HoJo has the entertainment rate available then too, for 4 of the 5 nights we'll be there. Come join the fun! :yay:

Thank you everyone for your help. What is the entertainment card and how do I get one? :confused3

Well you can buy the card on eBay ~ or you can purchase the book for your area or any area you'd like and you'll get the card with it - http://www.entertainment.com/discount/home.shtml

*You don't have to purchase the Anaheim area book. You also don't have to have the card to book your room, just make sure you have it for your trip. Perhaps a family member or friend already has the book and would let you borrow their card.

Then Entertainment Card comes in the Happenings Book/Entertainment Book that schools regularly use for fundraisers - you can also order the book online for your area or any other area. It has coupons for stores/discounts in your area and the card that comes stuck to the inside front cover is the one you need. You do NOT need the card in order to book the hotel room with HoJo, you just need to show it when you check in.

This is the website for it so you can check out which book would work for you.

I know some people have also ordered the Ent. Cards on Ebay for under $5 including shipping. The card does not have to be activated to use it. Mine never is!

This is the link to the Howard Johnson (HoJo) and their number is 714-776-6120. This is the direct number to the Hotel and if you call them during regular Calif. business hours 8 am to 5 pm and ask for In-House Reservations they can help you with reservations. Just ask for the Entertainment Rate when you talk to them.

We like the NQQ2 rooms - which go for $69 a night. They face the Garden Pool, are away from any possible freeway noise, have a refrigerator and microwave in the room (so we can have breakfast in our room) and have the upgraded mattresses and bedding (super comfy).

Happy Planning! :upsidedow

I am having a heck of a time finding a date that will work for my DH. Now looking at Oct. 30-Nov. 4. This will give me Oct. 31- Nov 3 in the park. What should I expect for Halloween? Will the park close early for a special event?
( sorry but I can not get on the official Disney site.) Can anyone give me park hours for those dates?

Like I said before, I could never do this trip with our your help. Thank you VERY much.

Well you could stay here ~ http://www.motel6.com/reservations/...ccorMaps/M6ProximityResults.aspx?searchtype=C that should fit in your budget for a room.

Park hours ~
10/31 -
DL 8am-12am
CA Adventure 10am-6pm (TOT *(in CA Advenure has nothing to do with DL)* party that evening ~ I'm sure it will be/already is sold out)

11/1 - DL 8am-12am
CA Adventure 10am-9pm

11/2 -
DL 10am-8pm
CA Adventure 10am-6pm

11/3 -
DL 10am-8pm
CA Adventure 10am-6pm

Does this link help ~ http://disneyland.disney.go.com/dis...pan=4&parkDCA=true&parkDLP=true&parkDTD=false

The weekend will be packed I'm sure ~ but get there early, collect FPs and you'll be fine, I bet Mon. & Tues. will be lovely ~ use your MM on either Sat. Sun. or Tues.

Yes, that was a huge help. :goodvibes

My plan is ever changing so I have uped my hotel limit. I may only get to go once!

I am currently looking at HoJo or Best Western. Even with the entertainment card I will only save about 80.00 total at HoJo and I am thinking that it might be nice to be closer to the gate at BW? Any feedback on this thought or on the rooms at each hotel?

I've only stayed at the HoJo (and only at the ent. rate) and I love it there ~ but I don't know if I'd stay there without the ent. rate.

If you've upped the hotel limit, I'd put the Candy Cane Inn in the mix. Their dedicated shuttle & free breakfast (& it's a pretty little motel/hotel) are nice perks if you get a good price.

Is it just the two of you?

Have a great time planning. :thumbsup2

for the Blue Bayou:
Additional Information
Priority Seating is recommended and can be made in person for this location on a limited basis. Priority Seating can also be arranged in advance by calling Disney Dining at (714) 781-DINE, or (714) 781-3463†

Yes it is just thet two of us.:lovestruc We will spend all of our time in the park, or asleep. We are not "spring chickens" so short walk back to the hotel sounds really nice.

Wondering about best ticket choices and where to purchase them? Buy 3 get two free offer? At hotel? Online? Cosco or other special offers out there?

If you belong to a credit union, try them also. One of our credit unions has 3 day hopper tickets for $164 for adults. It is the cheapest I have found.

have a great trip.

HoJo entertainmet rate it is. Thank you everyone for the tips! HoJo vets, and tips on the room/floor/building to ask for? We booked the upgrade, I think it was deluxe 2 beds with microwave. How does the ground room compare to the upper balcony rooms?
