We already have our tickets because we were staying offsite but just tonite we rec'd a FD PIN OMG OMG OMG. If we go with the MYW package I know we have to buy at least one nite of park tickets for both of us but if we don't use them and we don't want to keep them can we transfer them to someone else, either in the family or friends?

Thank you for your help!!!

Unused tickets are transferable. So you could either give away the tickets you already have, or take the ticket(s) from the FD package and ask the resort to put it on separate ticket media for you (vs on the KTTW card) and give it to whoever you want.

Why give them away? Did you buy them from Disney? If you purchased from Disney you can probably get a refund. We missed 2 days at DW in 2007 because of the Valentine's Day snow storm and I returned our 2 day PH tickets for a full refund.

Tickets purchased as a "requirement" of a package are not refundable to the best of my knowledge. Exceptions are made for guest recovery situations (like you outlined above) on a case by case basis.

And while the computers that run the resorts are antiquated.. the ticket computers can tell them where you got them, how much you paid for them, were they part of a free dining package, what credit card you used and whether or not you were wearing a blue dress that day.

Ok.. I lied bout the dress.. but the rest is true.

The required tickets for a package don't expire, if they are unused. Put them in a safe place and save them for another time! :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for the replies. The only reason I thought of transferring them to my niece is because it seems every time we have been we MUST buy at least a 1 day ticket when we stay in the park for the "special deals". But we will see. Is there any benefit as far as price goes if you keep it and use it later on? I mean if upgraded at that time?

If you held onto it for a year or so and the ticket prices go up you will be 'making' that money. But for it to be a significant savings plan tickets are really going to have to go up. You pay $79 for the ticket this year and in 2015lets say they are $85, well you have made $6.

Anytime you use a MYW ticket at the gate regardless of when you purchased it and what price the system automatically counts it at the $79 prices so you can go upgrade after entering the gate and you get $79 worth of credit.

We also have a small collection of MYW 1 day tickets b/c promos and such I think we are down to 3 (or maybe even just 1) but I have lost them. Moved twice since we last used one of them and just can't find them. This would be the downfall to saving those 1 day MYW tickets b/c I pretty much lost $79.

Yes. The only catch is.. in order to receive the full value of the ticket before upgrading it .. you have to use it once.

So.. When you decide to use it and upgrade it.. Enter the gates and immediately proceed to the Guest Services location and upgrade the ticket.

Obviously - don't use it before the trip where you intend to upgrade and use it.
