Please help me with my rental car dilema.

Well here is the story. I have a amazing price for a rental for 10 days at Thrifty...problem being they are off site. I was just reading the Alamo site where they will match the price of another car rental and beat it by 10% you just have to fill out a claim form and a copy of the quote you have elsewhere. Has anyone been successfull in getting Alamo to refund you the difference?????

Sorry disregard...I think I read it wrong....no tea yet this morning... I think it is a lower Alamo price...not matching the price we received from another Car Company.

Alamo Best Price Guarantee doesn't provide refunds after-the-fact. Rather, you have to file the claim within 24 hours of making your reservation with Alamo, and must make that reservation at least 48 hours prior to your reservation. If your claim is validated, Alamo will apply the lower rate to your reservation. So you'll know before you take the keys for the car from them whether or not you're getting the lower rate.

That should answer some of your questions, and for the rest you may be best writing to Alamo, before your trip, to get a promise from them in writing to provide what you're expecting.

Specifically, though, your question is answered here:

"Guarantee and discount do not apply to: ... Lower rates found at Alamo.com. The new rate will be honored, but the 10% discount will not apply. "
