I was planning on buying a 6 day water park and more park hopper with no expiration through undercover tourist for 576.47. Then I wanted to upgrade it to a DVC premium annual pass, which I know i would need to use the other ticket first. But the way I am adding it up, the ticket from undercover tourist will bridge to a cost higher than a dvc premium annual pass. My understanding is they won't let me do that upgrade. Am I correct? Somebody please help me and check my math!

Thanks so much.

Didn't check the math but f you are going to upgrade to an annual pass why bother with the non-expiration portion?

I didn't check your prices, but I will tell you that you don't get money back in an upgrade transaction. You need to select the UT ticket that has a gate value less than the DVC PAP with the most savings.

I know I won't get money back. By my math, it's just a couple of dollars, but I think I have seen where they won't upgrade a more expensive ticket. But I couldn't find that in a search.

The gate value of an adult 6-day MYW hopper w/WPF&M (no-expiry) is $649.65. The price of the DVC Premium AP is $644.33. You will basically lose about $5 per pass in "value" if you were to choose this option. But as you pointed out, the savings on UT is about $65 per ticket, which is almost double the savings of any of the other tickets that they are offering. So, I can understand the logic of "eating the cost" of upgrading from the MYW pass to a PAP.

However, according to the ticket sticky on the TPAS board, you won't be able to do it unless you get a CM who is able to override the system and make an exception.
If the Gate value of the ticket you want to upgrade from is higher than the price of the AP normally you will not be able to do an upgrade. If an exception is made, you will not receive a refund of the difference.

Personally, I wouldn't risk it, knowing that there is a high probability that I would not be able to exchange the MYW pass for the PAP.
